Lots of tentacular fun!

This series so far has shown a great mix of humor, action, and smexy times (with creative tentacle use!). The pacing is great and it definitely has me invested. Although Iโ€™m anxious to see some side characters get stories, it appears that River and Kaiโ€™s adventures are far from over! Canโ€™t wait for the next one.

Wow Chloe has come back with a second and even better installment of Tentacular Tales! We meet again with Kai & River as they're figuring out their inter galactic species relationship while working with ANAL. River has proven they need his unique way of thinking to settle on earth with all the tension of the illegal aliens narcotics being distributed on Earth.
You will see more epic pop culture references, amazing sexy times, action and mystery to boot!!
Please do read book 1 first it really does set the scene for this epic ride, I cannot wait for the next installment keep up the epic work Chloe!

2.5* overall... So much disappointed with this one. And I am so sad. I wanted to love it.

I really liked the first book (rated it 4* for the wordiness and stupidity of some characters but otherwise I loved it), but this one? I really wanted it to end from 40 % onwards. I will be ranting but I will try to also be constructive...

the review contains some spoilers... I could not help myself really
Spoiler

There are lots of plot lines but they just moved too epicly slow (constant dead ends, no info, no witnesses...). And then boom! Solved. What was the point of them if there is no natural progression? And once there is a movement in the plot and we get to a rescue, we have to read a whole conversation about some convention? Like what the heck? People (and aliens) were scared shitless for River and then they just stand and listen to the convo?

Which brings me to the same criticism as for the first book - TOO MANY WORDS. Really. And I am not talking about River. Just generally speaking. If someting is discussed in one POV, we do not need to read about the same thing from the other POV.

Speaking of POVs, sometimes, the way they were organised - it really lessened the suspense. We readers know about the kidnapping already so why should we read about somebody wondering what happenned, only to find out (once again) that someone was kidnapped.

Romance (and mainly its development) definitely took a back seat. Some sex scenes were cool but otherwise nothing. The LACK OF COMMUNICATION killed my vibe from the very beginning. I even contemplated DNFing the book at the beginning because Kai did not tell River they are about to meet with his ex. Like really? It did not cross his mind to tell River? It just felt so forced as a plot device. And yeah, guys are together for a month so it makes sense there is so little development romance-wise... but then why write the book set so soon after the first one? It did not feel realistic really.

The sex is hot.

The possibility of mpreg, not so much... I started reading this sci-fi because it did not involve mpreg (I checked tags, reviews to the first and other books and it is not even mentioned.) and now it is a major problem. And the whole thing about the pregnancy being highly unlikely (believe me, it is repeated multiple times)... what is the point of it then? I am ranting at this point because I hate mpreg. So yeah. I really skimmed the last 20 % because I will not be continuing the story. Yeah. Just because of an mpreg possibility. I think it should be mentioned in the blurb. Not everyone is "gaga" over mpreg.

๐Ÿ‘ฝ River ~ Kai

๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ.5

๐Ÿ“– River and Kai's adventures continue as they attempt to track down an extraterrestrial drug dealer all while dealing with Kai's ex who wants Kai back in his life.

โค๏ธ River is as sunny as always and continually pushes Kai to his limits, especially with his pyjama party date night and his spaceship moonshine experience. I absolutely love how Kai breaks out of his bubble and shocks everyone.

๐Ÿ–ค I love the storylines that are building with a lot of the side characters and hope they all either get their happily ever afters in this series or their books. Some interesting twists have you wanting to grab the next book right away. The series is best enjoyed in order as it follows the same couple and overarching plot.

๐ŸŽง Greg Boudreaux does another amazing job bringing the entire cast and story to life.

truly tentacular!

While I think I liked book one more, I did laugh a lot in this book! Tons of shenanigans and pop culture references mixed with River and Kaiโ€™s deepening love. There were some very kinky sex scenes that will delight tentacle lovers. Canโ€™t wait for the next book!

It's official. The Tentacular Tales is one of my favorite new series of 2022. I mean these books are just so much fun! Between the hilarious River and his antics, the lewd abbreviations, the outfits, all the side characters, the banter, and of course all the sexy tentacle goodness you can't help but laugh or swoon the entire book. I don't think I ever stopped having a smile on my face while reading. Its incredibly wacky and totally out there but I am diggin' everything about it.

Plot wise we have a bit of movement on the Extraterrestrials responsible for the illegal drug operation. Unfortunately, the Alliance may just be seeing the tip of the iceberg. On top of that, we have a mole. At first my money was on Aiden, but I get the feeling that's what we are supposed to think. I'd be kinda bummed if it was him to be honest because even though he appears to dislike River, I do so love their interactions together.

This book ends on a mini cliffy I'd call it. I'm left with so many questions and curiosities. What's involved in an Iyaran Sanctioning Ceremony? Is it possible for either of our beloved MCs to get knocked up!? Will Captain Starblade ever admit he wants Lord Vardox just as much as he wants him? How long is Benji going to be able to hold out before finally giving into Mal's charms? Same question except this time substitute Evan and Zion. And finally, I am salivating to know the real story of what happened between Wilder and Zamir. I need them all to have a book please and thanks. As River would say, GO TEAM A.N.A.L.!

Another winning instalment

Archer does it again! I think stories that span a number of books can be difficult to get right, with the following books sometimes feeling a bit like โ€˜fillerโ€™ or losing their momentum, but this doesnโ€™t. The same great humour, sass and great sci fi references continue throughout which is also what I loved so much from book 1. We get to find out more from some of the loose ends from the previous book, but also some new storylines open up as well which was great. Overall a brilliant, enjoyable read and yet now I have to begin the wait all over again for the next one!
