I love the way Olivia Dade writes a romance novel. It was an absolute joy to step into the day to day to day of these two teachers who feel so isolated in their own ways and through an unexpected friendship open up - though be it reluctantly. Olivia also somehow manages to take me into the most contemporary settings (like a high school classroom) and with her magic I feel completely  brought into the world of the characters and I don't want to leave.
I listened to the audiobook and once again was delighted by Kelsey Navarro's performance! She has narrated several of Olivia's books and she is incredible.

I appreciated that the protagonist was a plus size woman & they didn’t fall into the typical tropes for plus size women. It made me feel represented.

Something's a bit off about this book. There's a lot of telling instead of showing... and the characters are so stiff and un-human. The sprinkled in woke-ness makes the dialogue/monologues so cheesy instead of progressive and feminist. I usually like school/teacher-teacher romances but this was so bland.

This was adorable. Olivia Dade has quickly become my favorite romance author and this was definitely not a dissapointment! I felt like the pacing was off a little and it could've done with a solid 100 more pages, but I still loved the characters and the story and the romance and ahhhh. it was adorable. goth softball team supremacy
