After many years, Noel Book travels back to her childhood town in Salt Lake City to see her estranged father per his dying wish. Wanting to get back to her editing career in NYC, she believed this would be a short visit, but it turns into more than she ever imagined. As Christmas approaches, Noel discovers truths about her childhood and learns how to let love in and right her wrongs.
Ugh this book had me ugly crying. It’s a story about heartache, healing, forgiveness, patience, and love. Especially a father’s endless love for his daughter.
It also takes place around the holidays and mostly in a bookstore - two of my favorite things.

Richard Paul Evans’ books are like a warm blanket on a cold night. I love them every December and they are among my cherished possessions that I pull out to display as part of my Christmas decor. This one was no exception and my bibliophile heart was thrilled with the bookstore setting and all the bookish references.

2.5 stars. This book was okay. It was an easy read and I was interested in what was happening, but the characters were boring and dry. The main character was so unlikable, which I understand is kind of the point, but it was to an extreme level. And everything that happened was just so coincidental. The ending came so suddenly and in a matter of 5 pages, the main character changed her entire personality and became some amazing person. It was just a little cheesy for me, but it was very readable and I did enjoy myself.
The Noel Letters by Richard Paul Evans is 4th novel in The Noel Collection. Each book in this series can be read on its own. I have enjoyed Richard Paul Evans’ novels since I read The Christmas Box. I thought The Noel Letters to be well-written with developed characters and steady pacing. Noel Post is a woman who has let anger rule her life for too long. Painful childhood memories have influenced her life and her decisions since she was a teenager. After a sudden rash of losses, Noel has some downtime to reflect. She begins receiving handwritten letters that offer guidance, thoughts, quotes, and reflections. Noel can let these special missives help her or she can ignore them. There were several times when I found myself wanting to shake Noel and tell her to open her eyes (and her heart). There were some special characters in this story. Grace, Wendy, and Dylan each had something to offer Noel if only she would let them. I loved the descriptions of the bookstore. It sounded like a special place that would attract bibliophiles. I thought the store’s name, Bobbooks was disappointing and lackluster. It needed something magical and that was not Noel’s choice. I loved the quotes before each chapter about books and writing. There were other quotes interspersed throughout the book. There were some ones that I loved that I made sure to write down. The Noel letters is an emotional story that will tug on your heartstrings. The Noel Letters is a special holiday tale about misunderstandings, second chances, love, grief, books, and forgiveness.
Another great read by this author. Predictable like a Hallmark Christmas movie. But still very good!
A woman who is estranged from her father for 16 years returns home to see him before he dies. Unfortunately she arrives a little too late, and her family's long history of secrets and misunderstandings are all that remains. But is it too late to move on and find happiness when the truths are revealed? Was her father the man she believed him to be, or are all the people who knew him and loved him better references to his character? These are all things Noel has to come to terms with and figure out throughout her extended visit back to the home and the life she's been running from all these years.
This was a touching story that takes place throughout the Christmas season. It was a quick read and a nice selection for the holidays. I also really enjoyed all of the famous author quotes at the beginning of each chapter.

3.5 rounded up. Predictable and a little cheesy sometimes, but meaningful and feel good. Perfect for the holiday season.
