5 stars. This book is what you want in a romantasy. The crumbs, the swoons, the world, the badass FMC, the banter. This couple is going down as one of my favorites.

Spice between Neri and Nephele is much better than Alexus and Raina in the first two books. The pace is also quicker so I gave this third book a higher rating. Although the last scene is so crazy that I was like why this big jump in sex acts and brought the rating down.  We did find out what the details of the curse are for bringing Neri back which was a good addition to the story but no closer to getting anywhere with the drama with Thamaos.  It didn’t seem like they were that interested in getting Raina back so I guess we’ll see if she returns in the next book.  Will I stick around, probably since I can’t leave a series unfinished.

One of the rare novellas that actually moves the story forward. I enjoyed reading about these characters.

I liked a lot about this book- Nephele is a great character, and Neri was amusing. But I felt like there was more plot missing, like there was more to learn about these two that would’ve been appropriate in this book. The end felt strangely rushed, and threw in a very spicy scene that felt unearned. They could’ve brought in the “additional” element(s) of that scene as part of the plot earlier. Hopefully they uncover more about

their curse and their relationship

in the next book. Either way, I’m on the edge of my seat for the next book!
