Shizuku Mizutani is a diligent student. When she’s not in class, she’s studying. She’s not a very social student but she’s not disliked. In fact, she’s considered very dependable.

That’s why their homeroom teacher asks her to deliver homework to chronically absent, troublemaker student Haru Yoshida.

Haru has been out since he got into a fight on the first day of high school. Though his suspension ended a while ago, he’s yet to return.

Shizuku reluctantly agrees to deliver the worksheets, never expecting this meeting would change the course of her high school career.

See, Haru isn’t anything like the unstable, “monster” hrs been described to be by their classmates. He’s hotheaded, sure, but also playful and kind and, even, a little shy?

The first question he asks Shizuku is, “What’s high school like?” He’s clearly not playing hooky for a lack of interest in school.

It’s not Shizuku’s problem that Haru won’t come to school but she can’t help but wonder what it would be like if Haru did return…?

This is such a cute story!

I really appreciate the characters and the storyline so far. I always appreciate interesting and unexpected dynamics between characters — and this manga has that. There are plenty of “delinquent” characters in this story getting recast as more than their first impressions— which I really like.

Further, the playful banter between Shizuku and Haru is absolutely delightful.

I definitely recommend this one for anyone who enjoys a cute little, slice-of-life romance with some added quirkiness and lots of snark~

I bought this book when I was going on my kind of massive second hand manga haul. It was one of the mangas I was interested in reading, but when I got the book I was hesitant to read it. I was worried that I wouldn't like it and that the manga would be problematic, but that wasn't the case at all! This book was in between a 4/5 and a 5/5 star read for me. I ended up rating it 4/5 stars because I don't know how I will feel as I continue on with the series, and if it will get better or worse so I decided to stick it out and see if reading the later books will make me change my opinion on this book.

I really like the plot. It started off during a time where the characters didn't know of each other so we got to see their relationship and their feelings develop. This book was also quite fast paced for the romance, which is unusual for me to read but I do like it when it happens, most of the time at least.

Plus, the characters were my favourite sort of stereotypes. Haru is the like delinquent students getting into fights and skipping school when really he is a big teddy bear afraid of going to school with no friends. Shizuku is a high achieving student determined to be the best student at the school.

Overall, I loved this book. I would definitely recommend this book. It's a cute one, and so far it shows a healthy depiction of romance and friendship!
