I enjoyed reading this for a true crime book club and discussing it, but reading about art theft really didn't interest me very much. The mother of the art thief infuriated me! It's crazy that he got away with it for such a long time.

informative mysterious fast-paced

I don’t usually gravitate toward nonfiction, but The Art Thief really pulled me in. Michael Finkel’s writing strikes the perfect balance between informative and engaging, making the story of Stéphane’s quiet but astonishing string of heists feel almost like a novel. It was fascinating to follow how he managed to pull off so many thefts under the radar, and equally compelling to watch how it all unraveled. A sharp, entertaining read that surprised me in the best way.
