Ok, so this was cute and spicy. I did feel like the writer needed a thesaurus at times because it felt like whole chapters consisted of them telling each other “F you” or “F Off”. I also sort of get it. Given their backgrounds and how they grew up I can see this being the way they actually spoke. It’s also entirely reasonable that they would be poor at verbalizing their feelings. Spice was ok, sexual tension was top notch. Spice also seemed on brand with a sexual awakening though. They were both just learning what to do together, if that makes sense. Also let’s just take a moment for the lack of hygiene. This sent me. The author frequently talked about how filthy they were and then they would just go straight to pound town?
I liked this book well enough. I dont think I would continue the series.
I loved the enemies to lovers aspect.
I thought they were well matched as far as relationship dynamics went, but I didn't enjoy the vitriol that carried into their romantic explorations.
Who knew I was into W.T.-trailer park romances. lol
I think that at some point, even if you have a more "aggressive" life style or love language, you have to soften a bit towards your partner. Garron park did not have that softness. If it did I would have absolutely made this a 4 star review. But I missed it, I missed those sweet moments that every couple in love inevitably has. Yes, these men were hot when they were heated, but you can be hot and kind.
Not every nice moment has to be followed immediately or interrupted by a crass joke, or a comment that sort of diminishes the good intentions. Picking up what Im putting down?
These boys are a perfect example of toxic masculinity causing stunted emotional growth. It started to wear on me a tad if I am being honest. But on the flip side of that; for two machismo men who "hated" each other, they sure did talk about their feelings a lot!
This was an entertaining read, it was easy and sexy and I read through it at light speed.
Super great enemies to reluctant lovers and the ending was funny, and a teensy bit sweet. But you can't ever tell Devon or Maddox (LOL)

I really enjoyed the plot and setting of this book. I wish it was a little more slow burn, but I still loved every second of angst.
While faced with Devon Sawyer, holding onto rationality was damn near impossible.
Devon & Maddox are dirt bike enemies.
Each of them have grown up in the trailer park of Garron Park and each of them has their own family drama and trauma to deal with. They hate one another but are forced to deal with each others company due to not only the small size of their town, but also the fact that their brothers are best friends.

When Devon experiences a heightened trauma due to his abusive father, he has to lean on Maddox to help get back on his feet.
Now when you read this, you'll forever think of this book as the definition of enemies to lovers, because it damn well is.

-enemies to lovers
-brothers best friends brother
-abuse
-trauma
-small town
-sports ish?
-MM
-poverty struggles
-trailer park living
-underdogs
As always, read your trigger warnings.
"And the fucked up part is, I want to protect you from everyone else."

This was a true enemies to lovers. Maddox and Devon barely softened for one another to become lovers, but it worked for them. Their dynamic shifted from trying to beat each other up to trying to love each other better. Not that their version of "love" was model behavior for real world practicality, oh no, but their chemistry was undeniable. And by the end, they had figured out what worked for them. I'm greedy for the next book to get more from these raw and gritty characters!
It was fucking ridiculous … so what does it say about me that I actually liked it???!?!?
