Beautiful love story between two teenagers (which sadly but understandably provided annoying teenager stuff)

Bonus points for a character having the same name as my son because I never see Judson’s name anywhere.

My heart aches. I sobbed my way through A Thousand Boy Kisses. I don’t know what I expected, but it was not this. The Fault in Our Stars meets Me Before You meets Romeo & Juliet to create a beautiful, heart-breaking and impossibly tragic tale of love and loss and making the most of a short life.
Before we learned of Poppy’s secret, I was already heartbroken from the cruel way in which she and Rune were torn from each other. My mind raced with the possibilities of what could have happened in the two years they were separated, but the truth was the last thing I expected. Honestly, I thought there’d been a
Poppy’s eternal optimism is inspiring. She does not waste a single day. She loves with her entire heart and dreams with her whole soul. She knows what she wants, and she isn’t afraid to go for it. More than that, she isn’t afraid to say goodbye when the time is right. Her bravery is humbling. She is a truly beautiful character through and through.
Rune’s anger and bitterness is completely understandable and utterly gut-wrenching. To see him become vibrant again, as Poppy puts it, is a true honour. His fate made my jaw drop. I wish I knew more of how he spent his life in those ten years, but I think the point is that he was happy. He lived the life he was supposed to, and experienced the love he was meant to.
My heart aches. I am still sobbing. There were plenty of times I almost walked away from this book, and I’m glad I didn’t but, boy, my heart aches.
Approach with caution, particularly if cancer is a triggering subject for you. This is a love story, but it is also a life affirming and tragic tale of a dying child. Please be warned.

I adored the love shown by both Poppy and Rune. Some quotes are stunning but I did find alot of the writing to be very sappy/cringe at times personally.
I also found that Rune was a bit immature in his behaviour and actions when things didn't turn out how he'd like. However, I loved how much he cared for Poppy and the lengths he went to make her happy.
I did end up crying within the last 20 pages, but I wasn't bawling.
