I love a historical romance and this one checked so many boxes for me. I loved the lighthearted Charlie, and how Miles was so grumpy but couldn't resist him. The tension between them was delicious and I couldn't stop reading!! I listened to the audiobook and I really enjoyed the narration.

This was a quick, easy read. There's some standard tropes here like

the third act breakup

that aren't my favorite, but it didn't ruin it for me. I liked the characters, although they didn't quite feel fully fleshed out. I'm not sure why, but I was left feeling a little unsatisfied. The book just felt a little flat.
