This is a very quick read. I read it in two evenings. It kept my attention.
I'm Lutheran and believe in an eternal life beyond what we experience here. In fact, I love reading or hearing about near death experiences and the similarities people experience. However, I didn't think the book was well written and I'm not sure I buy everything he attributes to his little boy saying. Perhaps it is because it doesn't fit my understanding of heaven given my faith upbringing.

Reading it for book club. I think the topic of "whether heaven is real" will generate a ton of discussion.

I loved the Nebraska references because it's my home state. I was really frustrated with how the author and his wife handled their sons illness. They swallowed their own instincts and listened to the drs when they really should have listened to their gut. When a friend tells you to get your kid to a hospital they should have listened!! The little boy did sound adorable. All in all, okay read but wouldn't rate it very high.

I found this book inspiring. Those who want to believe will believe the experiences this boy had but those who do not want to believe, will not believe and criticise.

AMAZING!

Eh, this book wasn't that great. It did get me thinking about the afterlife though and what it will be like. I'm not big into Christianity, therefore I most likely did not get as much out of this book as some do. I figured it was a book I should read at least once though. Not my favorite and won't be in the top 10 or even 100 list for me ha!

My mother was adamant about me reading this book; after three years of her asking, I finally read it. I must say, this book was much better written and a little more believable than some other books I've read about near-death experiences. However, this book is highly focused on the end-goal of Christianity being "getting in to heaven," which I think is an incredibly selfish ideal and I do not agree with it whatsoever. If you are a Christian solely for the purpose of getting yourself into heaven, you have some priorities to resort...

I loved this beautiful account of such a special journey. For something so difficult for us as humans here on Earth to comprehend and understand, the innocent and simple perspective of a child is a heart warming and encouraging one. This is definitely a book I will keep on my shelf.
