First I LOVE how this book ended, happy-ish ending, all the bad guys (that we know of) are put away, and it’s leading book 2 to be a “same characters but different storyline” which I love!
Leigh was frustrating at times, she legit says yes to everything! And I get it she’s headstrong and wants answers but holy cow girl you don’t have to do everyone’s bidding lol! But she’s definitely strong FMC material and I can’t wait to see what she does in the next book.I do love her character and she’s put through SO much so the fact she’s willing to do whatever for her people says a lot.
Wilder, this man did not want to stray from the law AT ALL but then he meets Leigh and all of that goes out the window. He and Leigh balanced each other out so well and I love how he tried to stay so strong to his morals and only veered occasionally if it would benefit Leigh and to get answers.
All of the side characters were so good! And I really hope we see them all and their growth in book 2.
I think this book was the perfect length without there being too much “fluff” or “filler” as well as being pretty in depth it definitely earned the 5 stars ESPECIALLY since this is the authors debut novel.

I originally started this on kindle a few months again but wasn’t in the right mood. When I saw it was on audio & a duet narration I jumped at the chance to listen & I easily speed through the rest of it.
It’s a modern day urban / pnr with the witches in power. A bodyguard helping a princess find missing letters. It had good action + some spice.
There is a bit to learn in the world building but once I understood what was going on it was a fun listen—I do love a duet narration!

Ohhmygoodness!! What a wild ride this was and in the best way possible. I absolutely loved this whole book, Wilder and Leigh are everything.
I really like the word building, the pace, the drama and the little bits of spice included. Turning every page had me wanting more and more, so many secrets, so many lies, who to believe!? I was sooo shocked towards the end on that plot twist and I loved it!
I literally cannot wait to see what’s coming from this awesome world!

I loved this book, it actually got my out of my slump or may put me back in one. But I loved it, finished it and had so many thoughts!!!
1- I loved the romance, the build up was amazingly done and I was giddy, squealing when those moments happened. But I do wish that there were more spicy scenes. There's only like 1 chapter where they fully give in to each other and the rest are just heavy, tense, Im so close to kissing you scenes.
Can't dislike the story the world building was amazing the characters were very lovable and I had so much fun understanding the book's magic system. Highly recommended though only side note was if your a romance reader like me and live for more romance scenes/spice. I'd say this book has around 1 really spicy scene across the entire book. I found the book focused more on the magic system as well as the characters magic ability's then romance.
