I read this after having already seen the movie. I knew about a few of the differences but I forgot that the ending twist is different. I prefer the movie mostly although a few scenes and plot points I wish were included in the DCOM adaptation.
Such a great book, now I have to read the manga, and watch the movie, just love Meg Cabot's books!
Nice book for teens just not dramatic as I thought it would be.
Meh I feel like there was so much potential but the romance was cute and I love Cabot’s writing very nostalgic feeling
I don't know much about King Arthur, but this book definitely peaked my interest to look more into the legend. This was a fun spin on the story and the mythology around it, and how Arthur will reincarnate in a later time period to defeat the darkness (maybe we need that now...). I love Meg Cabot so I wanted to check this book out and it did not disappoint. There is excitement and intrigue, plus the usual amount of teen romance.

This is my third time reading Avalon High. Crazy right? Well, a couple years ago I went through a huge Meg Cabot faze before I even knew about Goodreads. When I finished everything Meg Cabot had written for my age group that I could get my hands on, I didn’t know what else to read. So, I reread everything. Back then, I didn’t know about the graphic novels that come after this book because my library has them. But, now that I’ve learned I can get them through inter-library loans, I decided to reread this first book.
At the beginning, I was thinking that this book was better the first and second times. But, as the book progressed, I started to remember why I had loved this book so much. I can’t believe there was so much I had forgotten! And the main characters are just so cute together. Now I can remember why I loved this book so much.
I also like the fact that this combines my favorite genre, YA romance, with something almost entirely new to me: Arthurian Legend. Because of the way Meg Cabot mixes fun with something that could’ve been a lot more boring, this book was super interesting. I don’t know if everything is entirely accurate, but I did enjoy relearning all of this info on King Arthur.
I recommend this book to people who enjoy crazy adventures, King Arthur, YA romance, and having a fun reading experience. You can bet on this book being something I read again in maybe another couple years.

Avalon High was a very light, silly read. It wasn't high literature but it wasn't terrible and I liked all the different references to Arthurian legend some more obscure and veiled than others. Like I said, quick, light read. Nothing more than that.
