I really enjoyed taking my time with this one and have now finally finished it. There was a chunk in the middle where it was very slow and I was admittedly a tad bored, but I loved the start and the last 80 or so pages.

Gothic, dramatic, a little camp and surprisingly somewhat emotional, this was a great story to really sink your teeth into. I found Louis to be a really compelling character to follow, with an interesting cast of characters around him.

I didn't really know what to expect going in but I'm really glad I read it and I do plan on continuing the series.

Not sure, just faded away. I like teh story, but I am unlikely to return to this as it kind of feels like it comes with teh burden of reading the whole series.

A fantastic, melancholic take on vampires. Very compelling characters. I find that most fiction featuring immortals doesn't quite sell the idea that a lot of time is passing, but here you can really feel every depressing second of it. It's good stuff.

I'm not sure how I feel about this book. She'll drop in really interesting concepts to consider--around good and evil, time, meaning of life, etc.. and lots of the writing is well done. But it's too much like a gothic novel---a mopey protagonist who is so unbelievably introspective that pretty much nothing happens.

Había visto la película antes y el libro es por mucho superior.
