Thank you Jessica Jude for an ARC for Queen of Vengeance. I really loved this one. Slate will have you melting with his bad boy vibes, bike and tattoos. Don’t forget the man bun. Love his touch her and die energy.
Lux seemed shallow in the first book, but this really delves into her character. Exploring her character more was a treat. Jessica’s characters tend to mess up big and it gets messy, but their resolution is always top notch and real. I’m always thinking I won’t forgive these characters and then she goes and redeems them. It’s an art form really.
There’s a teaser for a 3rd book and I’m hoping that happens because Jessica always surprises me and I thoroughly enjoy reading her books.

Slate and Lux are the a true tale of two cities. Rich and poor/ Socialite and mechanic/ dealer.
Lux is a rich girl in an abusive relationship as well as family. Her bother is suffering with addiction and she is trying to figure out who is supplying him.
Slate is a car mechanic owner and his sister is suffering with an unknown condition. He is trying to help save her. Lux brings him into her world where they have to navigate their feelings, wants and personal issues. It really is a tale of two cities in the best spicy way!

Thank you so much to Jessica for an ARC copy of this book! Queen of Betrayal completely hooked me from the first page. Lux gave total Gossip Girl vibes—rich, glamorous, and a little reckless—but what I loved most was seeing the deeper layers behind her party-girl image. The rich girl x dangerous boy dynamic between her and Slate was electric.
One of my favourite parts was Slate’s relationship with his sister. The autoimmune rep was so refreshing to see, and his protectiveness felt incredibly real. I loved watching him shift from judging Lux for her privilege to falling for her.
The character growth in this book felt so natural. Lux and Slate both start off defined by who other people think they are, but throughout the story, they slowly begin to find who they are on their own terms, and with each other. Plus, the side characters added so much fun and depth to the world. I already miss them!

Many thanks to Jessica Jude for allowing me to be part of the ARC!
I don't usually read romance that isn't fantasy, so this was a wonderful step away from things. While I'd say the twist is a little predicable for someone who reads a lot of stories like this I was pleasantly surprised when I guessed wrong at first. The relationship Lux had with her ex broke my heart a little each time they were together (as someone who also experienced that kind of relationship it was very hard to read so JJ did a good job there) and her relationship with Slate really helped and was beautiful to read. Absolutely wonderful book. Highly recommend.

This got me out of a nearly month and a half reading slump. I loved this book so much. I will say I did see the twist coming from the very beginning which is odd because I am usually oblivious to stuff like that lol.
The characters are so well written and easy to fall in love with. I need to know what they do to Lux’s ex though.
Two people who are complete opposites in every way…but were made for each other. Slate helps lux feel in ways she hasn’t in so many years. And lux helps slate realize he’s still a good person despite what he does. That he’s worthy of being loved and happy and free.
Hoping next book is Rhett and Briar.

I was able to be an ARC reader for this book and took forever to read it (a few days instead of one) because I didn't want to leave the world or characters. It was great!

Before this ARC, I was in the worst book slump. I couldn't even open my Kindle or pick something from my shelf—and with all the work piling up, it only got worse. But this book? Chef’s kiss.
The journey with Lux and Slate was fun, gripping, and honestly just what I needed. I’m an enemies-to-lovers kinda girlie, and when I tell you this is one of the best I’ve read? You better believe it.
I was hooked the whole time, even through the 🌶🌶🌶 scenes 👀.
It’s not a full 5/5 for me because I saw the plot twist coming early on, but that didn’t stop me from loving every second in their world.
Loved the characters. Loved the story. Honestly? I need more.

Book Review: Huge thanks to Jessica Jude for the ARC of Queen of Vengeance! The second installment in the Hand of Revenge series absolutely delivered! I'm obsessed with the grumpy/sunshine and enemies-to-lovers tropes, and this book nailed them both! Jessica Jude's writing is both humorous and emotionally resonant. The characters' backstories are so well-developed, and the banter between Lux and Slate is perfection! Queen of Vengeance is just as steamy as Ace of Betrayal, and I am here for it!
*Queen of Vengeance will officially be released on July 1, but you can pre-order it on Amazon right now! Also, if you are interested in reading Ace of Betrayal, it is available on Kindle, unlimited!

Life’s taught me not to expect much. Handouts, fair treatment, a decent parking spot downtown. But dead last on that list? Lux Colombia-Clarke showing up at my door, looking like a damn fairytale with a score to settle.
Her proposal knocks me sideways: find the city’s most dangerous drug dealer, and she’ll make sure my sister gets what she needs. I’d be an idiot to refuse, but every time her eyes cut my way, something dark and electric stirs in me.
She’s trouble wrapped in silk, and I’d be wise to stay clear.
Good thing no one ever accused me of being wise.
Lux
Trust me, I can think of better things to do than begging a prime-parking-spot-stealing jerk for help. Like, a million better things. But this leather-clad biker may be the only way to help my brother. If I can endure the boulder-sized attitude he’s carrying around.
We had a deal. One that didn’t include feeling … safe. Protected. Happy. Like, wtf?
In no universe do we make sense together. He looks as out of place in a tuxedo as I do in anything other than vintage Chanel. But when we’re together, it’s like none of that matters.
Until, of course, it does. And then nothing will stand in the way of our epic mutual destruction.
