Frustrating

I found the book most interesting. I had moments of bewilderment, languidly, anguish, and depressing moments. As well as benign atonement and amazing images, and reactions. The plot was amazing the fact that we see Jane eyre go through such dramatic changes in just a few chapters… wonderful. I will admit I am not much of a old novel fan but I am a romance fan and I really enjoyed this book. Jane marrying Rochester in the end was the best; I had my doubts when he was introduced but Brontë proved that Jane and Edward Rochester belong together.

4,25 STARS:
Forgot to update this but it was genuinely such a fun read. The drama was real. Most characters sucked as people but they were so entertaining I didn't care. Mr. Rochester was a weird and awful man, but also such a drama queen LMAO.

Charlotte Bronte is a brilliant sensationalist, but perhaps the true brilliancy of her book lies in the fact that it is a political statement without being blatantly so. She offers commentary on the division of social classes, feminism, and duty to God vs. duty to self. Jane Eyre to me is an admirable embodiment of spirited independence and passion balanced with self-respect and conscience.

Jane is the epitome of “bridling your passions,” sacrificing the immediate fulfillment of human desires for love and affection to keep her conscience clean.

Then Jane meets John. At first glance, he seems to symbolize total consecration of heart; just as Jane does, he gives up the woman he loves for a higher reason.
Yet he reveals himself to be another kind of poser, self-righteously claiming that Jane is abandoning God’s path if she rejects his marriage proposal. At this point, Jane stills yearns to find a path where her conscience and heart can meet.

This book is an inspiring reminder that people can transcend their circumstances and do what they feel is right in the dignity of their spirit.
