This book would’ve gotten five starts if it wasn’t for Cade.
Cade and all those shitty ass fucking chapters we had to read when he was with Raven.

I really enjoyed myself while entering the world the author, Whitney Dean, created. It can be hard to try and create something that feels new, but I think the author successfully did that! And the characters… I had so many emotions while reading. Was I screaming at Zeke out of frustration, yes! Did that stop me from loving him, no! The characters and the development of those characters was done really well. There were some I disliked and came to love and those I liked and came to despise. One thing I’m not a fan of in general is jealousy and there’s was a lot of that in the book. However, I know it exists in general and it makes sense for the story and the characters. I can’t wait to read the next book because my heart can’t handle how it ended!

Thank you @/boundbymischief and @/authorwhitneydean for the tour opportunity.

I loved this book, I started reading it cuz I had heard good things about it, but no one told me that it would hurt - I loved it more because of that. As in the words of my friend @/frommailenesbookshelf, ❝This book is a roller-coaster for sure but the good kind.❞
❝I love when the "hero" turns out to be the villain and the villain is doing the right thing in a way!❞ I feel the same way, and thank you for listening to my rants.
This book DESERVES the hype and more.

I love both the main characters as well as the side characters, it was refreshing to see the FMC as morally grey and possessive. I liked that it was Dual POV, it developed the book even more and made it motr interesting.

Raven is one of my favorite FMCs, she is so strong, her internal turmoil, her development with her powers. I enjoyed reading about her so much.  I liked that she found her people, in her kingdom. I admire the love that she has for her kingdom, she is such a great queen - and she is ZEKE'S QUEEN.

Zeke is one of the best, I loved reading his POV, the way he felt about Raven, his powers are so interesting. He is caught in between and has conflict within himself. He has shown that he will do everything to protect Raven, even distance him from the love of his life. But, he never gave up on her, he was always there for her - even if she didn't know it.
There were so many moments in which I felt like giving him a warm big hug, my poor zeke  baby. He has become one of my book boyfriends. I know that the nickname 'baby' might be common for people, but I love it, especially when Raven and Zeke call each other by it, and 'my little demon' is everybody's favorite, including mine.

I didn't like Cade at all, although I do think he could have done better. I could see the huge difference with how he and Zeke behaved with Raven.

They are reincarnated lovers, and I could feel that every time they were near each other, there connection was AMAZING, they are power couple, and I can't wait to see their relationship grow more. They fit each other so perfectly even though they are so similiar, their demons dance with each other - which I love. I can't wait oto see how the romance, their love story can be even more better in the next book.

No one told me that this book would hurt so much, it had angst - which I loved. The way both of them were hurting in so many different parts of the book. The emotions were so well displayed.

This book is said to be the beginning, and the second book - A Kingdom of Frost and Fear to be the love, the instalust starts to grow more, and I can't wait to start the second book.

As a debute book for the author, I think she did pretty well, the world-building was good, the characters, I would've like a bit more development but I liked Raven. The plot was enjoyable, I like the dark side of it, also being a triangle I know it's not for everyone but for me I enjoy them so I am up for the ride for what is next to come.

I can't put this book down and that's horrible because it's THICK, so I have stayed up way too late to read this and I can't wait for the next book.

There's some serious spice, but it's done in a way that doesn't take away from the overall plot, which I like.

The world-building is well done. We learn a little about the world and each of the kingdoms throughout the book. There's enough information at the beginning that you understand what's happening, but not so much that you are confused or the book is too slow to start.

The characters are well-developed and I find myself invested in Raven and wanting the best for her.

The twists keep coming and I never see them coming. I love that I can't figure out what's happening or who I can and can't trust, it's what keeps me reading.

I can't wait to read the next book.

There are some mixed feelings here ...

The world-building was okay, for me it was too much here and there ... but it is very rare that I love world-building.

I loved Zeke and Raven! Their connection was just magical. I fell in love with them from the very beginning.

I was invested in truly knowing who and what Raven was. So I kept reading into the world-building.

I was into the whole triangle aspect, but I really started disliking Cade. I mean after what he did, what he hid, and what he lacked ... it was a big no.

I was getting whiplash from some of the characters, but I just could not put the book down. I cannot stand the miscommunication trope, and I feel like Raven portrayed a lot of that. I hope it gets better in book 2.

I truly loved the way this ended, I have the highlights to prove it 🤣😂 I will continue the series ... especially to see what happens with Zeke and Raven, and to see Cade fall from this high pedestal he has put himself on.

Secrets, soulmates, and all the spice. This book was a wild ride from the very first page. Raven is an absolute force of a main character. She’s smart, strong, beautiful, witty and powerful but she is also haunted by questions about herself and a fear that she will never be loved or truly accepted. We get to watch her unravel the truth of her mysterious history, discover parts of herself that she never knew existed, and fall into a love that not only consumes her but saves her as well. Raven, Zeke, and everyone in their circle must uncover years of deceit to reveal the truth about her identity and the fate of their very kingdoms, but the lies they must tell along the way to protect those they love may change the course of everything they’re trying to protect. This story is dark, emotional, and thrilling; it delivers constant excitement, emotion, action, romance and magic. The dynamic between Raven and Zeke is so alluring it makes this book impossible to put down, and had me scrambling to read the next book so I could see how their story continues. Do not walk, run to grab this book.

Ummmm…first off I need the second book immediately. Dean does a fantastic job of creating a fantasy world and characters that reflect the real life flaws. Raven struggles so deeply to feel loved and worthy and accepted which, I think all of us at one point or another go through. We get messy entanglements and questioning self-worth, sorrow, happiness, literally the full spectrum of a roller coaster ride of emotions. We also get fantastic banter and about 🌶️🌶️🌶️’s worth of spice. But overall the character development of Raven I found so relatable.

Tropes include: one bed, who did this to you, touch her and die, fated mates.

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Favorite Quote(s): “Because we were woven into the fabric of the universe, destined to find one another here and in every other lifetime, that thought comforted me.”

“Too many men surrounded me and I wondered if that was why I always had headaches.”

“If you ever f***ing  hurt her again, not even Hades himself will let me into hell for what I will unleash on you.”

4.5 stars. I could not stop thinking about this book. It is definitely not for everyone, and the trigger warnings that came with it were appreciated. The story was really compelling, and I love Raven and Zeke as characters. Some of the cringe parts with Cade were painful, and it made me so sad for Raven.
