This was essentially just A Touch of Darkness from the perspective of Hades, so it was much less annoying overall. Much of the book was the same, but with a more interesting subplot and showcasing some of the other gods as well.
Tellement cool de retrouver ces personnages que j’adore. Plein d’humour encore mieux que hades et persephone.

After enjoying A Touch of Darkness, I knew I would like this book. I loved seeing everything from Hades's POV and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't just a retelling of the first book. There was even more that happened between Hades and Persephone that we only find out about in this book. Some things are better explained and clarified from the first book while others are completely new. Honestly, this book only made me love Hades more which I'm surprised was even possible at this point.

I really enjoy the authors writing style, it is compelling and doesn’t feel cliche. I felt there was more depth from Persephone’s POV, and I’m glad I left a decent chunk of time between reading the two books otherwise I think it would’ve felt repetitive. I did enjoy exploring Hades’ motivations and values though. The spice felt gratuitous at times and slowed the story down

I love MMC POVs—seeing all that intensity, how they burn inside for the heroine... and Hades was no exception.
The problem? The audiobook narrator completely ruined it.
I don’t know how it is in English, but in Spanish, I seriously wonder how it got approved. A fantastic story, full of potential, completely lost its impact due to a bland, monotonous narration filled with editing flaws. Keeping a neutral face while listening to spicy scenes (there are plenty) because you’re a badass is one thing. Feeling bored because there’s zero emotion? That’s another.
Is this going to stop me from reading more Scarlett St. Clair? Absolutely not. I love how she weaves mythology into her stories and makes you care so much about the characters. (I just want to hug Hermes).
