Ok, the first thing I've got to get off my chest is that the President isn't really missing so dont be fooled by the title.

This novel centres around the President of America fighting the worst cyber threat the country has ever faced while evading assassins and other threats, and also trying to hunt out a traitor in the White House.

I had worked out the main twist by about 150 pages in which was a shame but there were other twists I hadn't guessed which almost negated the disappointment of working that one out.

I also felt that the majority, if not all, of this novel was written by James Patterson but the reader could tell that there was an experienced president assisting with the writing.

Overall, this gets 4 stars from me. It would have been 5 had I not guessed the main twist.

A good political action thriller, although I'm unsure what Bill Clinton offered to the mix, apart from some grandstanding, but maybe I'm being ungenerous.

The President is Missing follows President Jon Duncan as he fights to tackle a terrorist plot that threatens the whole of the United States.

This was a great poolside read - like Dan Brown crossed with Tom Clancy. It was exactly what you would expect, and it was fun. The short perspective-change chapters also made it very moreish. As far as I can tell, Clinton's contribution seemed to be things like a preachy speech made by the President, which was unnecessary but his name on the front did entice me to read this so

It was okay. Seemed unrealistic to me.

I didn’t care for this book. The story was interesting, but something about it just fell flat for me. I didn’t get invested in the characters, so I found myself not even caring who the traitor in the Presidents inner circle was.

3.5 stars. I liked it, despite the fact that the beginning was a bit slow. This was my first James Patterson book, so I have nothing to compare it to. As with a lot of thrillers and fiction one has to suspend belief quite a bit, and this was no exception. The book will not win any prizes, but I did enjoy it and I am glad I read it.

Bill Clinton and James Patterson. As my dear ole' grandpa always says about things as absurd as an ex-president co-writing a political thriller: "Who'd've thunked?"

This book was 56% boring, 14% exciting, and 30% okay. I have to admit that I resorted to speed-reading and even skipping full sentences to get by, and it definitely could've been written in just 250-300 pages. Also, I don't think political thrillers are for me.
