I did not anticipate the end.
Or the end of the series.
Or the timeskip.
Or the fact that I won't meet these characters again.

It's been a hell of a ride with Tal, Csorwe and Shuth.

The Unspoken Name had an issue with pacing, it just felt so long. This one was much better with that. The relationship between Tal and the kid (whose name I can't remember) was cute. I don't really remember that much about this book other than I liked it better than the first book.

Liked it a lot! The first little bit was kind of a struggle, but once it got to the big time skip (which was jarring!) I got really invested! It took a totally different direction than the first book did, and it was very good. It felt a little bit like the author had an incredible idea for the 14 years later, most of the book, but didn't quite nail the beginning of the book that got us to that point. It felt a little unbelievable/clunky. But once we got there it was great! In particular i really liked all the exploration of what it meant to be a person and also a god, and how the two "people" in one body overlapped and took over each other, and how they also were separate too.
