Enjoyable, and with multiple relatable perspectives/voices. This was a good read, but the format lends it to being sight read, and not listened to (which I did). The lists, essays, interviews, etc. would have been easier digested (for me, at least) if it had been read and not listened too.

Using various pop culture icons, this work of essays shows readers how to stand up for themselves. In the wake of the 2016 election this anthology joins many others in encouraging activism in younger generations. It is a powerful and inspiring work.

Maybe because I am not a young person, I did not learn as much from this book as I had hoped. I want to reassure any adult wondering if this book will radicalize their child, it will not. The resistance described in this book is pretty mild. For sheer creativity expressed, I liked Dylan Marron's entry best. I also think it is terrific that there is a bibliography of resistance book recommendations in the back as well. Are any of those books 'dangerous?' for children to read. No. But they may help young people see how they can change the world.

I received an ARC copy and therefore, not all of the pieces in the anthology were there so I couldn't give it a full five stars, having there be parts of the book I couldnt read, but I think if you want to know what you can do to be a better ally or activist, this is a great read.

How I Resist is a collection of essays designed to inspire the youth to speak up on the issues they're passionate about. The diversity of the essayists shined through the abundance of subjects that the essays were on. Each of them had a different and refreshing writing style, and the subtle shifts in tone here and there made it easy to consume. I enjoyed this collection a lot.

A great collection of narratives aimed to inspire young people to get involved and have their voice heard. I loved the diversity of contributors and look forward to sharing this with my students.
