I read this book because I have an obsession with novels that are about writing a novel, or maybe even just really into meta content period - if I'm honest.
Something about this piece just fell flat or didn't resonate with me, and after some reflection I realise it was the two leads. The writing was lovely, story great, the book within a book feel was en pointe as usual. But I had a really hard time caring about the two main characters, and their conflict and dynamic felt like something I wanted to rush through to get back to every other part of the book.
This doesn't happen to me often I find, and I'm not sure why it did here, but there you have it.

I give this book 3 stars because it was a very average book in my opinion. I listened to it on audiobook while I cleaned and that might be why I didn’t like it but, I do think that if it didn’t seem like lots of other romances I would have liked it. It felt like the writers version of love and other words and I didn’t really like that.

I liked the premise, the dynamic of the characters and the fact that these characters aren't perfect (i.e. the vibes were great!).
However, the reasons behind all the drama were kind of lukewarm and made the end of the book drag a bit.

Easily became one of my favorite love stories! So beautifully written. Looking forward to reading more of their work!
This book captured my entire heart. I felt like an adult reading this book. I don't know if that makes sense, but it felt like I could truly understand the complexities of love and the journey of living experiences in this book.

This book is also in my top 5 romance novels of the year. I loved everything about it even when the characters frustrated me.
