This book feels like it would be a purely id driven ride. But it also has a very well thought out and complex backstory and reality for the main characters. I very much appreciate the author being clear that this is not a traditional romance capital HEA, but the warning almost made me too concerned at the 75% mark that it would end on a depressing note. It absolutely does not so you can be confident that while it’s not a traditional HEA, it does have a happy ending and it’s an incredibly satisfying read.
Whew! This is a fiery, fun and quick read and exactly what I needed right now. You can absolutely bet I’ll be reading more from Jack Harbon/Shiloh Clark in the future. This was an utterly delectable escape that isn’t ashamed to take what it came for, even if it means breaking some hearts along the way.

when i first heard about this book, i was immediately sold because of that title and the smut. unfortunately, this was not the best smut for me.
the sexual tension was not as hot and spicy that it almost felt kinda rushed unlike what i am really hoping for, so that was the biggest let down for me. second, i did not care for the characters at all even though i badly want to. however, despite these issues that i just did not like, the smut was still good. also the dirty talk (a very hot dirty talk indeed) and the way on how the scenes were written intensely gave this book some plus points for me. if you are expecting a romance mixed with the smut, this is not for you. the relationship that mia and alessio has is purely sexual and i was fine with that because i felt like this book is much more better without the romance.
all in all, this story is still worth the read, has A LOT of potential and perfect for curing a reading slump because of how quick and spicy this book is.

Of course, if she had done that, would she have met Alessio? I did enjoy how Mia and Alessio opened up to each other. I really enjoyed how Mia came into her own and realized that she was doing things for the happiness of others rather than her own happiness.

A short and fast read, cuts to the point. Good girl Mia resorts to being auctioned due to her POS fiance burying them in gambling debts; she's bought by Alessio, who awakens her kinkier side in the bedroom. This isn't a typical HEA but rather a Happy For Now. Personally, I didn't love the storyline with the fiance and/or mob he owed and I couldn't quite buy the emotional investment from Alessio (nor their coupling in general, considering all we'd had between them was sex), but the smut is sexy as hell and it's an easy read.
