i think my heart will never fully recover from this book, i cried so much and if i could read it for the first time again i would do it in a heartbeat. i think this book might be one of my all time favorites.
Adriane is dead. A story has killed her. (*)
Honestly, I think I haven't read such a good book for a long time.
(*) This is the beginning of the book "Agnes", the one I needed to read for my Abitur (=A-Levels). Seemed fitting to me.
Liebe Abiturienten, viel Glück für eure Prüfungen!!

Now that is how you end a trilogy. Perfection. 5 stars. No notes.
Es un gran desenlace de la trilogía, encantada con la historia y personajes.
I -
Honestly throughout the first portion of the book I didn't really think that I'll give this book 5 stars... but towards the end things started to change.
I feel like this part was not as action-packed as the first two, but it still was very catching and I really wanted to keep on reading to see what will happen next. I am glad that the big mysteries of the series were revealed and that I finally know what Tessa is and how and why she was created.
But what made me give this book five stars is the things that happened after the "big fight". It was just so wholesome and I got to see all my favourite characters be happy and get the ending that they deserve.
The epilogue was sweet and heartbreaking at the same time. We had a big time jump to 2008 -all of the characters expect Tessa, Magnus and Jem - long gone. It was painful to read Will's last scene but it was beautiful to read the wonderful life Tessa and him had together.
Honestly, I am going to miss these characters. They really grew on me throughout these three books.
I read the Bulgarian translations of these books + listened to the Bulgarian audiobooks - both immaculately made. The translators did an amazing job and the narrator was just wonderful. This truly enhanced my reading experience. I really appreciate the art of a well done translation.
This definitely will not be the last shadowhunters book I read!

Yes, despite it being a mismash of issues, I am giving this book a 3 star rating. I like the characters and the storyline. I just wish Clare would give up on the "love scene/romance scene" writing because when she writes these scenes it is all hack drivel. They read like a teenager who never had a boyfriend wrote them as fanfic.
I enjoyed the story when it was progressing the plot. Clare does very well in that sort of writing despite the annoying "words" she uses in her universe that she has made up. I can do without hearing the word "ichor" ever again since it was badly overused in the first chapter or two. I loved the supporting characters in the book...finding out what happened with their plots and I liked how since they were not the focus on the story, their relationships were not so melodramatic as the Jem/Will/Tessa relationship with was at eye-rolling levels of stupid. Really??? Jem didn't have a clue Will loved Tessa but EVERYONE else around him did? Wow, he must be dumb as a board to miss the clues!
The love triangle...it was at annoying levels of melodrama. The way it was wrapped up was too neat at the end because Tessa just loves two people at once. What a fickle girl! I find it telling I had to look up Tessa's name again, even after reading the two other books, because her name escaped me.I suppose "Mary Sue" would have been too obvious a choice since that is what her character is in personality.
These books had possibility, they had great sections of writing that engaged me, and they had sections that were pure fanfic "written by a 14 year old who has never been kissed". If the focus had not been on the limping, lame, Jem/Will/Tessa love triangle the books would have been so much better. I also wish the shifts of story/character prospective where separated better because it is a bit jarring and confusing to have it happen after only a double page break.
I am glad I followed the series to the end, I shed a tear here and there while reading (Yes, I admit it!), but this series could have been so much better than it was. I will not be reading Clare's other series anytime soon because her writing does not appeal to me. I have never been a fan of fanfic style writing. So, this series will probably end my reading of her work.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What a fantastic end to this amazing series. I think as of right now The Infernal Devices is my fabvortie of Cassandra Clare's books. The characters are so rich and I love all of them. I loved Tessa as a character and watching her grow throughout the books was great. Will and Jem are also two of my favorite male characters in the Shadowhunter world. I love the themes that Clare explored in these novels. You can get a sense of belonging and love for other people who are not like you. It was interesting to see how the family bloodlines somewhat comes down to The Mortal Instruments series. I now can continue on with my read of the Shadowhunter books as we wait for the new trilogy to come out.
