Liam, Frederic, Duncan, and Gustav are all unconventional heroes who are ridiculously stupid and incompetent in their own way. Combined as a group, their chemistry is off the charts. The interactions between the princes made me laugh out loud multiple times.
The writing is cheeky and clever, but it walks the fine line between parody and heart. You can tell that the book is a love letter to classic fairy tales instead of pure mockery. The plot mostly exists to give the characters a reason to go on a big adventure and get into silly shenanigans.

Based on the age group this is intended for, I would give it 4 stars. I enjoyed it and it was clever, but I wouldn't say it was hilarious. The story revolves around four princes who have lost their individuality thanks to the bards that just call them all Prince Charming. They all start out on their own paths, but end up joining together to stop the evil witch. Things don't always work out well for The League of Princes, but they form friendships along the way and learn that each of them is more than the songs say about them.

I saw this book in one of the 2 ABC stores we have here in my country, and decided to buy it. And what a wonderful book it was! The illustrations are really brilliant and make the characters more alive.
The Princes, well let's just say they are idiots. The things they do. I seriously wonder how they even survived. I, at first, didn't like Gustav or Duncan. Later I started to like them when I saw they could be something different than what they were at the beginning of the book.
The book was hilarious and absolutely silly. I really enjoyed it.
