Another enjoyable entry in this series. Not my favorite genre, but the story keeps moving.

3.8/5 stars. This most recent addition to the series was ok. Involving the Navy in the storyline was original, and I quite enjoyed it. What I didn’t like was the writing regarding the heroin storyline and the ending of the book. I prefer a show, don’t tell type of writing style, but I felt the writing about heroin was too heavy handed and preachy. It felt like Dugoni was given “talking points” he needed to include for a sponsor and was unsuccessfully in his efforts to make them flow organically in his book. I also though that Crosswhite getting pregnant at the end was a bit of an easy out. I think it would have felt more authentic and would have been more realistic than the miracle pregnancy we are given.

This was my first Tracy Crosswhite novel, now that i have read it, i think i will go backwards and read the rest 4 :)
The story first seemed to run two parallel investigations which then around midway , got linked.
The ending was definitely unexpected, and i couldn't wait to finish reading the book.
The personal life details of officers, the lead life details, and the link between it has been beautifully depicted, and the second half made me sit on the edge of the chair, wanting to finish it sooner to get to the end faster !

I feel like I’m a broken record but this serious I never know who did it. I am always surprised.

I loved Dan in this book he is incredible the way that he loves Tracy makes me so excited to come. We all need a Dan.

Again I’m also loving the narration I like the way that it’s settled from voice to voice but you know it’s a different person speaking.

I liked it!

This book flowed at a steady pace. I enjoyed the story on Dale and his love life, too. On to the next one!

There is no way around it. I love this series! It is set locally to myself in Seattle so I recognize the places that Tracy is investigating. I also really enjoy the camaraderie and caring of the team she works with. Kins, Del, Tracy and Faz are all wonderfully developed characters. They have all grown so much.

In CLOSE TO HOME, there are actually two different cases that end up merging into one. Cases that involve the military and span from Kitsap county up to Seattle. This book also brings in to focus a crisis that is occurring across the US. The tension is high with little breaks to catch your breath, the dialogue is on point and the conclusion surprising.

As I am sure you can guess, I highly recommend this book. Heck, I highly recommend this series. I think that any of my readers who enjoy crime drama or police procedurals. I can hardly wait for the next book.

** I received this book at no charge from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions expressed within are my own.

Tracey Crosswhite does it again

She's still an EXCELLENT detective, kicking ass and taking names. Each book has it's own sad story, but each still has a GREAT ending. It seems like she sees ALL the action in Seattle. Seriously tho lol

Another great Tracy Crosswhite book. I love this character, as I love all of the characters in the book series. The book is easy to read, but never boring. I will continue to read the books in this series.
