It makes me so sad that I did not enjoy this book... Before I started this series (as far as I was concerned) The Raven Cycle received so much praise on social media so it really bumps me out that it is precisely these books that got me in a reading slump..
I swear, I feel like I have not read them properly.. how can I be so little stimulated by this series...
This book was by far the hardest to get through. I barely felt anything reading this, except for a couple of times and the last 50 pages where I was hooked. However, I'm not sure it's enough for me to pick up the last installment quite yet...
If I am completely honest, one of the main reasons I wanted to read these books in the first place was for the famous friendship between the guys and Ronan and Adam's romance section.
I have finished the third book and here is what I have to say concerning those two expectations:
N°1 - Their friendship and interaction is quite underwhelming
N°2 - I need concrete proof of romance now! The subtle hints of attractions have been used enough!

ok the author lowk ate this up i fear i was not familiar with your game AND ADAM PARRISHS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT GIVE ME TEN OF IT
Wow, wow, wow. That was the best one in the series so far. My heart is racing, I don't know if it's from the 5 cups of coffee I've had or how exhilarating that ending was. Immediately starting The Raven King now!!

when i read trc originally, this was the least memorable of the 4 books for me, and im not sure why? i somehow retained exactly 0% of this on my first read through
i said something similar in my review of the raven boys, but im going to say it again: not a lot really happens in this book! didnt realize that was a staple of the series but again, i dont really mind it. the characters and their relationships are fun, though sometimes blue and gansey leave a little to be desired. seperatly they interest me, together im just like. myeh?
and not to immediately contradict myself, but? Very Important things happen but a lot of the book is just the gangsey being pals and friends and exporling and shit which again IS 100% FINE. this may be the only series for me that can get away with 80% character interactions/20% plot. it doesnt drag and was still enjoyable to read
also im glad adam can be an evil little guy somtimes lol it brings me joy
