but that was actually so cute, and the fact how it so naturally revolved over 24 hours.

Rowan and Neil have been fighting tooth and nail to best each other through their entire high school career. With the valedictorian slot finally clinched there remains only one last face-off; the all-senior scavenger hunt and a record-breaking cash prize. A conspiracy to unseat the two overachievers means they will have to succeed at the one thing they've always failed at...working together.
The description I read compared this to The Hating Game (which I've also read) but the rivalry between those two characters felt a little too mean-spirited in a way that was hard to come back from. This struck just the right note. If it seemed a bit drawn out I also have to say that the evolution of their relationship felt more earned than a lot of other love stories I've read in this category, so maybe it was time well spent?
There are a lot of wonderful tributes to Seattle here and it reminds me of a book I loved as a tween: Remember Me to Harold Square, which also featured a citywide scavenger hunt, only in New York City. Though this takes place across the country, somehow I feel like Paula Danziger would have approved. Very fun.

I was so excited when this finally got added to my library. When I saw Rachel Lynn Solomon was writing a sequel, I knew I had to read this one of hers beforehand so I could participate in the hype and I'm so glad I did. Rowan and Neil have a special place in my heart now and I can't wait to hear a continuation of their story <3

i can relate to rowan on a great level (well, not with the academic rival bcs i don't have that one & i'm graduating college). with how she loves romance books, cream cheese, the self-sabotaging, and most importantly: how we both hate endings, goodbyes, and changes.
it feels scary but exciting that there's a whole new world waiting for us out there :)

This has become such a comfort read for me this year. It made me envious of all the fun graduation traditions that graduates like my sister and myself would have gotten if not for COVID and I wish I had such a great enemies-to-lovers romance like Rowan and Neil! I connected with them on such a deep level, with both of them being Jewish and celebrating their heritage and Rowan wanting to be a writer. It was the sweetest kind of escapism I needed.
