Personally, I think the tenth boon should have been the final book. This was still cute though. It just feels disjointed from the rest of the series.
Excuse me while I try to control the water in my eyes.

5 stars because this series meant and still means so much for me. It was my Harry Potter while growing up, it influenced my reading likes a lot and all characters are close to my heart.
Even though I thought too much was going on, thought some plots were unnecessary and predictable, was bothered the whole time about the lack of scenes with Rocky and Mia's parents...I'm satisfied with the end :)

Overall, an entertaining, quick read. Not my normal fare but it was a nice vacation from reality.
Love, Love, Love!
I have been waiting for this one! Royal Wedding brings back the wonderful cast of characters from the original books in the series. Mia has her Michael and he pops the question! This read is filled with tons of laugh-out-loud moments, unforgettable characters, and everything good from the original books in the series. Bottom Line: Say yes to this dress!

I'll just start by saying that I ADORE the entire Princess Diaries series. I basically spent my teenage years growing up alongside Princess Mia, she was my book BFF. When the series ended, I was heartbroken but perfectly happy with the ending of Mia's story. I never expected more to the series because Meg Cabot acted like she wouldn't be writing more, at least not for a very, very long time!
So imagine my shock when I logged on to Tumblr one day and see the Royal Wedding announcement. I was insanely happy, how could I not want more Mia in my life?! Receiving and ARC for this book was such a privilege for me.
*Minor spoilers for the beginning to follow, although I'm pretty sure these things are made clear by the book's title and official description*
Now for what I thought about it!:
This book was a delightful, easy read. While it didn't always capture my attention the way other installments in the series did, I enjoyed reading it.
My favorite aspect of Cabot's writing is,and has always been, her sense of humor. I found myself laughing out loud so much during this book. It's a very, very fun read, especially for those who have followed the series from the beginning.
Though we missed seven years of these character's lives, the gap was seamless. Every character still felt the same after all this time, which I was very glad to see.
My only real criticism was that it didn't feel to me that much really happened in the book, even though things did indeed happen. There were a couple of really big moments, but there was also a lot of filler that just didn't hold my attention, and that’s what made me feel like things weren’t happening I think. One plot point in particular(it had to do with J.P.) felt a little phoned in and lazy, a stretch to portray him in a bad light. Overall though, these problems can easily be overlooked, especially for those who have been waiting for more PD books!

I would definitely recommend this book, it's an easy, very fun read and long-time fans of the series will not be disappointed. 4/5 stars(probably really 3.5 but I just am really happy that this book even exists!) I am very hopeful that there are more(fingers crossed) Princess Diaries books on the horizon, which isn't too hard to imagine with the way this one ended! So we shall see!
Thanks for reading this review!

Royal Wedding picks up seven years after Forever Princess ended, with Mia and the gang having settled into life as adults, and Grandmere is as crazy as ever. Mia has been recently badgered by the media about her and Michael not being engaged after all this time, with headlines like "Why Won't He Marry Mia?" So when Michael finally pops the question, Mis is over the moon happy. That happiness is short lived though, because when the couple returns from their utterly secluded beach trip they find chaos. Someone has leaked their engagement! The book follows Mia, in diary form of course, as she has to juggle planning a shotgun wedding, her father's run for prime minister of Genovia, family surprises, as well as a plethora of other problems! Now for what I thought about it!:

Meg Cabot is the reigning queen (ok, maybe partnered with Sophie Kinsella) of candy reads, and this book was fabulous! There was one plot point that I found irritating, but I just adored the book so much aside from that one thing that it still gets a five star rating. Grown up Lilly alone would probably be worth 5 stars. Meg Cabot, write more adult Princess Mia books, please!
The Princess Diaries was an absolute childhood favourite of mine and, even though it was well concluded in the 10th book, 'Royal Wedding' was a brilliantly written insight into 26 year old Mia and all the old favourites. Mia is a lot more mature in this book but she still sounded like old Mia, if that makes sense? Meg Cabot was able to write her character so accurately but with such a difference voice, I really don't know how she does it!
Mia is still the same old funny, quirky and lovable character. I lost count of the number of times I burst out laughing reading her inner monologue. Michael was as swoon-worthy as I remember him from the rest of the series. We didn't get as much romance as I was expecting but it was still a good amount and all of the moments between these two were adorable and perfectly written. I loved Michael's proposal as even though it was romantic, on the other hand it was so Michael and typically him.
Grandmere is quite possibly one of my favourite characters EVER. She's brilliantly evil but deep down, she has a soft side. This was seen when she met Olivia, Mia's half-sister, and she completely went soft. We also got to catch up with Tina and Lily. They're still the best of friends with Mia. Tina is still a hopeless romantic and Lily is still.. well Lily. It was genius of Meg Cabot to put Lily as a Law student because it suits her so much and she's perfect at it too!!
Mia's parents got back together too which I was certainly not expecting. There is also another MAJOR bombshell which made me actually stop reading and freak out. It made me realise just how grown up Mia truly is.
This book was perfect and if you are a fan of the Princes Diaries this will definitely not let you down!!

This is my favourite of "The Princess Diaries" series! I was so glad that for what seems like the final book, Meg Cabot decided to take a slightly more adult view on the story. This is refreshing after reading 10 books from the point of view and opinion of a teenage girl.
Mia in this book has finally accepted responsibility, and is attempting to enjoy what life has given her, despite the down points. Everything from being a princess, and marrying Michael, to her father's arrest and secret sister.
I'll wait patiently and see if Cabot decides to revisit the series and continue the adult branch of books further.
