I loved it. It took me right back to middle school when I read the first book. I can't wait to see where Meg takes the story next.
This was cute and sweet and everything I wanted it to be.
- porém a história desse livro é toda desnecessária.
Nunca saberemos.

I was super excited when I saw that Meg Cabot was releasing a new book in the Princess Diaries series. This series got me and my best friend through our teens. We’d read them together, and fangirl over Michael on a more than regular basis. Meg Cabot’s writing style has always been clever and witty, and an absolute joy to read. Mia Thermopolis was always a brilliantly relatable character to read about. The whole series was just brilliant.
When I picked up Royal Wedding in my local library, I really thought all of these things would still stand true. However, I found that I didn’t enjoy Cabot’s writing as much this time round. The wittiness was still there, but I feel like it was overshadowed by a distinct lack of plot – or, at least, a distinct lack of an exciting plot.
The big reveal in this novel was really disappointing for me. I know that it was done with the intention of paving the path for a new YA series, but I still didn’t like it. I’m sure she could have started the series without ruining her older series for fans in the process.
I also expected Mia to still be relatable since, in this book, she’s still around the same age as me – just like she was when I read the books originally. However, I feel like Cabot wrote her as the same teenage character that she was in the original books in this series, instead of writing her as the adult she is supposed to be in Royal Wedding.
The only redeeming point for me in this novel was Michael, simply because my teenage heart will always love Michael Moszovitz.
Royal Wedding was nothing more than a big disappointment for me – which is a shame, because I really thought that diving back into a world I loved so much as a teenager would be the most wonderful experience.

It's over. It's finally over. The saga of Princess Mia is finished. It was a great ride and it is so bittersweet to find a fictional character who gets to travel on that journey with you.
This final installment takes seven years later with Mia 25 years old. It was so much fun to see how her life had progressed and what was happening in the lives of her friends. I really enjoyed Royal Wedding, yet at times there were too many things happening at once. I was pleased with little surprises peppered in every few chapters. It was a very sweet and endearing reading experience. Every single moment between Mia and Michael was so adorable. I will miss reading from Mia's perspective through her emails, texts, and diary entries. Luckily, there was a very special character named Olivia Grace that was introduced. A new series has begun with this spunky little girl that I have requested from my library.
While it has taken me several years to finish the series at my own pace, I am happy to report that I smiled on the first page of "Princess Diaries" and the final page of "Royal Wedding". Genovia, forever may your banner wave.

Wow, I can't believe that 11 books later I am finally finished. Started in 2001, after 18 years I stuck to it and followed Mia on her last diary for now. This follows the new adventures of young adult Mia. She and Micheal are still dating and haven't tied the knot yet. He finally proposes on the perfect romantic get away, but then the craziness starts. She finds and younger sister and her parents are making eyes at each other after the death of her stepfather. Mia faces her recent crisis in typical Mia fashion. She has also had some weird medical symptoms... what could that be. This was predictable, but still fun. Mia's journey has never been one that was super surprising, however they are FUN. I love reading Mia's silly journals and great voice. The ending, although sappy was earned. What a good series. I'm glad I got to follow Mia on this path.
I wish I could give it 6 stars! The perfect ending to a series which I've loved since I was around 7 years old!
Please let The Mediator book be better than this.
Idk there were too many ~life lessons~ where it felt like Mia/Meg Cabot was trying to force some opinion about society onto the reader. And even though I probably mostly agreed with her, it was just weird to read.
Also I hate when books wrap up with marriages and pregnancies omg. Ok I totally should have saw the wedding coming how did I not see it coming it's called Royal Wedding what am I doing. The engagement felt so off. Michael is weirdly practical and like what is his personality?? Robots?? It was the total opposite of cheesy. And omg twins. I don't even know.
And there were SO MANY ~pop culture references~. Way too many.
Dude this book is just setting up the Middle School Princess (or whatever it's called) series. Though Olivia seems nice enough?
Omg and Mia's parents getting back together what. I should've seen that coming when they killed off her stepdad (soz I've forgotten how to spell his name). I feel like people should've sounded more upset about that but whatever.
Maybe I would have enjoyed it had I been a bigger fan of this series but weirdly enough The Princess Diaries are two of my fave movies and some of the only movies that I like better than the books.

Great finish to Mia (and Michael)'s story!
Now I've got to pick up Olivia's series...must to keep myself occupied until FEBRUARY 2016 (sigh!), when Suze and Jesse's last story ([b:Remembrance|17302879|Remembrance (The Mediator, #7)|Meg Cabot|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/book/50x75-a91bf249278a81aabab721ef782c4a74.png|23959466]) is finally out!
