**UPDATE**

lighthearted medium-paced
Loveable characters: Yes

Only the last 15% made up for the mishaps happened in the first 85% and I hate it, but not as much as I thought I would initially.

Trigger warning: sexism in workplace

A short and sweet tale of romance and the riggers of navigating real connection in a modern day work force that is filled with covert gender politics.

The author did a great job of keeping this a light and fluffy romcom with a dash of spice, while simultaneously presenting the reader with very real industry bias without letting the text become preachy.

The characterization is so impressively melinial with it's snarky nods to media and pop culture that does a great job of submerging you in the setting of the story. It is a swift read that does not disappoint.

I did think the relationship advanced heavily as the story came to an end but it is not so fast as to be unbelievable. Especially when taking into consideration the culture of the setting. That's show biz, so to speak, but in a way that really makes you route for it.

Another classic CL book, nothing too special about this one to me, some light feminism and perhaps a too realistic portrayal of how whitewashed Hollywood is.

Evie and Carter are both Hollywood agents who are married to their jobs. When they meet at a mutual friend's party, they immediately hit it off, but they know it can't work between two super busy agents. However, their attraction is undeniable, so they tentatively begin a relationship. But when they each go into their office on Monday morning, they're dismayed to find that their companies have merged. Not only that, there might not be room for both of them, so they're now in competition.

This book made me anxious with the terrible boss. But other than that, I liked it. This was a fun, sweet romance. I really enjoyed how Carter grew and learned throughout the book.

Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

Had to put this one down for a while because the workplace stuff was too stressful. And I haven't worked in years.

Fine story. Not my favorite CL book. The back and forth got to be a little bit much for me. And the pace of the story felt off for me.
