Not pulling me in and not vibing with the writing style. Will potentially try the audiobook once that is released to give the book another chance.

This was such a fun read! Alex is a fashion loving, shopping addicted radio presenter whose life flipped after a break up. She is given the opportunity to host Australia’s top morning show and she has to prove herself in a male lead industry and make a statement in the music scene. Her fashion is enviable, her friendships and family are amazing and I fell in love with the characters. This book gave me all the feels, it featured laughs, tears and giddy kicking my legs at the romance. What a debut! Can’t wait to read what you come up with next Ash!

This book was witty, it was relatable, it was quirky, and it was A LOT of fun!

Everything was written so well. The main character’s inner monologue was hilarious. The cast of characters was utterly delightful, so much so that I wanted to be friends with all of them. Their camaraderie and support was heartwarming. The broadcast setting was fabulous and the feminism was on point.

Feel-good reading at its finest!

There’s a One Direction mention in the first chapter - that’s all you should need to know.

✅ Music references
✅ A 29 year old main character
✅ Love interest with long hair
✅ Calling out men on their bullshit

I had such a good time reading Love On The Air and putting myself into the life of Alex York, our rich-loves-a-designer-brand-Sydney-sider radio host. Major Rebecca and Luke from Confessions of a Shopaholic from our leads.

It was the perfect joyful, but healing and f the patriarchy, read I needed after finishing Sunrise on the Reaping. The tension between the leads was *chef’s kiss*, there’s women helping women, and I loved that I got to read an Aussie romance.

Thank you Allen & Unwin for the copy!

(totally see that Tilly is Taylor Swift. but still deciding whether Finley is a Harry Styles, Shawn Mendes, or Ross Lynch type  )
lighthearted slow-paced

Alex left (ran out on) her radio job, fled the country and is quickly running out of savings. With no career and no plan, she is lured back to Australia by a breakfast radio gig of a lifetime, but it comes with some hairs: her arch-nemesis, an old school CEO and an unepexetedly attractive new boss.

Love on the Air is such a fun read. A mix of a rom-com and women's lit, it's funny and fun with a great look into the world of Australian breakfast radio.

Alex is so faithfully herself throughout the entire book, yet has some moments of great self-growth and introspection that really resonates with me in my mid to late 20s. Even if she has expensive taste, her down to earth personality won me over, and maybe won over the heart of her boss too.

I really loved the romance in this too. It felt more natural, with Alex and Leo learning about each other and becoming good friends. Leo ends up being incredibly sweet even if he wasn't always that way to begin with.

A big thank you to Allen & Unwin for an arc of Love on the Air, all opinions are my own!
