Love On The Air is an ode to the workplace rom-com. It’s witty, funny, and empowering. It deals in love and loss, about understanding our flaws and wanting to improve on them, about taking your time with things in this age of fast lifestyles.

At first I was finding it hard to relate to Alex York (which is obviously a play on Ash London’s name, an A name and a major city in the UK) because of her wealth and taste for the expensive. I hesitate to spend $20 on a T-shirt, let alone what Alex spends. Yet somehow, just like she did with Leo, she won me over. I think it’s because deep down, every person reading a romance has once had their heart broken and wanted to do the best and be the best that they can be after a break up. Give the people that hurt us a big fuck you, followed by the bird.

Alex is unapologetically fierce, capable, and strong and I love that she stands up for her beliefs. I love the slow way that she and Leo fall in love; that comfortable friends to lovers trope that I’m often not the biggest fan of but works so well here.

Alex and I are the same age and what I wouldn’t give to have the same confidence that she has got. She’s really inspired me and I give full credit to Ash London and her team at Allen & Unwin for that inspiration.

Fear or love — I’m gonna choose love every time now.

This is such a fun read that reiterates just how much I love romance. Alex, our FMC, has so much personality, which makes her the perfect radio host. Radio is an industry I’ve always been interested in, so I loved getting a taste of it.

The romance between Alex and Leo was cute and sweet. There is an element of forbidden romance with him turning out to be her boss, but it’s clear that they are both falling for each other, even though the book is only Alex’s POV.

While this is a romance, the relationship between Alex and Leo is almost secondary to Alex’s first love, her career. She gets a second chance and a big break, and she’s determined to do her best. She even starts to look at managing her finances, which for a shopaholic, is a big thing.

With her success, she unfortunately comes up against sexism in the workplace, with certain men not thinking she is deserving of her position. This just makes you want to back Alex even more and want to see her succeed.

I had so much fun reading this and can’t wait to see if Ash writes any more books.

What a glorious debut book, such a joy to read on a Sunday relaxing at home. Focusing on Alex, who quit radio after a messy break up, who the goes back to radio, with her on air partner Tom who is all kinds of fabulous. Then there’s their boss Leo, who initially they aren’t keen on. This is a light read, with an emotional line running through it. I loved the characters, especially the fabulousness of Alex and Tom and loved the book overall.
Thanks to NetGalley and Allen & Unwin for an advanced copy of this book for an honest review.

This book was a fun filled romance that I really enjoyed. Great debut by Ash London.
Alex annoyed me a bit with her shopaholic ways, however was still incredibly loveable.
There is plenty of drama from a jealous colleague to keep readers entertained, and I loved that London brought her own life experience into the book

A fun, lighthearted look at breakfast radio, especially in light of recent comments made on air about women's sport!  This book had its own personality clashes, which were well-written and very believable.  Alex is strong and very likeable, owning her foibles.  I especially enjoyed reading her experiences with financial planning and earlier total lack thereof!  Vanessa would be a fabulous protagonist in a companion novel, which I would read immediately. (Despite the fact that romance is not my go-to genre, the comedy element in London's writing hooked me.)

The love story between the two main characters was a great execution of the friends-to-lovers trope, as well as a satisfying grumpy/sunshine dynamic. I did struggle to relate to Alex and her financial status, and thought it was a little heavy handed on the luxury lifestyle she led. Still was a fun and enjoyable read!
