I'm not a fan of vigilante justice, but the book has a great setting, some good thrills and a few really good twists and turns along the way. It was hard to put the book down. Recommended.

More twists and turns than mystery in this one. Figured out a couple of things. A few surprises. Child breaks his formula, which was nice in itself.

This was one that was a bit too predictable for me-- I fairly quickly figured the twists out but still meets my requirements for a fast, easy to read Jack Reacher.

A slow burner but once it got going it got going.

Somewhere in South Dakota Reacher is on a bus when in a snow storm it crashes. Unable to get going any time soon all the passengers are sent to the nearest town for food and shelter. Reacher is sent to stay with Janet Salter who happens to be a witness in a high profile case. She is going to need Reacher's help as she is now a target.

We had a lot of stock characters; the upstanding older female, the villain who has 'little man syndrome' and everyone is scared of him, the crocked lawyer and we are introduced to Susan Turner who is featured in a later novel.

A good plot with a nice cliff hanger at the end 4/5

I liked this one as the pace kept moving however I did figure out quite quickly who the bad guy was. I still have an issue with how the author writes (uses 3 sentences when he could use just one!). Still a quick read

Don't bother unless you're a Jack Reacher fan - but if you are, this is classic Jack.

Reacher being Reacher.

This was my first Jack Reacher novel and I am HOOKED! Went back and ordered books 1-4 and so far have not been disappointed. (Currently working on #3).

It kept me interested all the way through. I read it in a weekend - which is only noteworthy because I usually don't have that much time to read so if I get through a book that quickly these days, it says something for the book!

Great page turning read. Jack Reacher is so cocky but so wonderfully in control too. I especially loved the retired librarian character - she was strong and smart and a real spitfire.
