well... this was a wild ride lol. definitely reminded me of daisy jones & the six by taylor jenkins reid!

the characters were brilliantly fleshed out, can't fault that at all. however, katarina was insufferable at times. i actually felt bad for a man in this book lmao.
by the end, i was shocked at the juicyness of what'd happened between certain characters cos man, I COULD NEVER. iykyk.

the writing style was absolutely engaging. the little interview pages from other people in the industry made it that much more interesting to me. i loved seeing the situation from different perspectives.

people didn't lie when they said this book was messed up, the back and forth pull between katarina and heath was intoxicating.
i also usually don't care for sports in my books, but this worked so well for me to the point where i was surprised. i actually cheered for katarina and heath to win despite the ups and downs they went through.

this was a solid book and i 💯 would recommend reading this!

Mix between From Lukov with Love and Daisy Jones and the Six

So much happened in this book and I genuinely felt invested in the journey of these characters!

Look, I would give this 5 stars if I wasn’t a figure skater. As a figure skater, one who has been a fan since the 90s and a skater almost that long (off and on), it just hits a bit too close to home. Layne Fargo managed to write such a realistic book that I was literally doubting myself when it comes to events I attended (as a fan) or locations I’ve trained at (as a skater). Like, did this happen? Did I miss that? Absolutely unreal amount of research. Holy smokes.

So, if you want a look at the drama and pain and backstabbing that is part of figure skating, this book is for you. If you want a slightly toxic, very messy relationship between two people who are messed up, this is also for you.

4.5⭐

These characters are toxic. The amount of emotional whiplash i got from these book.

Heath and Katerina romance feel little flat for me. But it was a hell of a drama.
