As soon as I heard that Steiner was doing a hockey series, I was super excited. With Meet Your Match, you get a delicious enemies to lovers story with Maven and Vince. But the concept behind Maven having to be Vince’s shadow for her blog, it takes things to a different level of emotions and opens both their eyes as they spend more time together. The connection and the sizzle these two have is full of sparks. Not just from their chemistry but their banter as well. It is fun, witty and so much more. Great start to the series and looking forward to more within this world!

This was my first Kandi Steiner book and definitely not my last! I loved the snarky banter between the hot shot rookie hockey player, Vince, and the social media savvy Maven. They are complete opposites. She was raised by hippie type parents. He was raised in wealth. She’s been destroyed by a rich jock in the past and is in no mood for this cocky handsome rookie. But. They are forced into working together. Let the sparks fly!
Maven won’t let her heart feel again. She’s determined to keep things professional. My heart broke for her and Kandi’s excellent writing makes you actually FEEL her struggles. Then there’s Vince. He’s enamored by the feisty Maven but she’s shared a bit about being hurt before so he tries to keep things light as she wants. He fails. I ached for Vince trying to do right by Maven but really catching feelings early on. And wow are they burning up the pages of this book when they finally get together!
There’s angst here of course but there’s also the expected smiles at the HEA so well deserved. There’s a group of hockey players I can’t wait to read more of and Kandi gives us a sneak peek of book 2. Oh yes please! This was a terrific, romantic, and certainly steamy read.

I am so happy to have this as a palette cleanser after a couple terrible books.
I am very invested in this series! I accidentally started with 2nd book and this is the first in the series. I honestly think it’s fine to read them out of order. I liked the 2nd book just a little bit more, but this one is fun and sexy too.
Vince is a charming star rookie pro hockey player and Maven is an outspoken online journalist. She finds Vince’s cocky attitude offputting and just assumes he’s a vapid playboy. Vince is immediately taken with Maven and the fact that she won’t put up with his shit. Vince shows her that he enjoys helping others, he’s creative and he’s real. Despite this, Maven has a hard time letting go of preconceived notions about famous athletes.
