So today I won an ARC of the second book and quickly realized that I haven’t even read a book one, I decided to read it now. And I finished it literally sitting in one sitting. I could not stop reading this book. The moments that I couldn’t sit down and read it, I grab my headphones and made Siri read it to me. This book was that good at that I literally could not stop.

When Rune runs for her life from her fated mate who is extremely abusive, she runs into the lands of other shifters. Not knowing it at first the mystery of why all these people are looking at her weird and treating her different, come out when she gets close to a few male shifters who take an interest in her. Secrets come out when they realize that she is a shifter but can’t shift do to something that her fated mate did to her.

This is a slow burn. And full of mystery. I can’t even explain everything that happened. It’s just so good. She gets stuck in this town after a car accident, and quickly find a job so she can pay the mechanic to get her car going again. And from there the story just kind of takes off.
Rune Has lived a hard life. She’s been betrayed by her own mother. Her fiancé treated her absolutely horrible. She’s been on the run never staying in one place for long. And then she gets stuck in the small town full of wolves and let me just tell you this book leaves off on an insane cliffhanger. I cannot wait for book two. I already am dying for the ARC that I won!

DNF @ 84% plot soup...just throw everything and the kitchen sink in and stir. I'm not sure what I read.

Pretty Good

I found the story pretty slow, however it is still really good and worth a read if you’re interested in a new shifter series. That being said the story does continue on into the next book so if you’re not ready to read a whole series then I’d check this book as a tbr.

This book kept me curious throughout and the ending/cliffhanger just came out of nowhere. Definitely will be looking forward to the next book in this trilogy.
The book was set at a good pace but I feel like some things at the end/explanations were a little rushed. I did have a few questions, which I think a lot will have to do with her past. Hoping there is more world building, talking about the past and explanations with the next books.

Just wanted to say one thing: I didn’t find Rune to be wild at all.

I'm definitely becoming addicted to books by C R Jane.

Wild Moon is the first book I have read by Mila Young.

This is the first book in a paranormal/shifter romance series Real Wolves Bite.

Rune is a latent wolf shifter who is on the run from Alistair, her abusive true mate, who rejected her. He placed a cursed brand on her, which locks down her wolf, so she can't shift. All we know at this point is she was rejected because of something found in her blood when tests are carried out to check her bloodline is "pure".

After a car accident she ends up in an out of the way place called Amarok. This place is full of shifters, however it takes a while for Rune to realise this. She had seen a lot of maps belonging to her old pack and was making a point of staying away from places that were pack territory and this place was not on their maps, so she thought she would be safe.

The people who live there tend to either welcome her, or make it clear they want her to leave. Even the two guys she finds herself attracted to. The mysterious and dark Wilder makes it clear he wants nothing to do with her, while Daxon, the sweet and friendly guy, wants her to stay. It soon becomes apparent these two have their own issues with each other.

This is much slower paced than I'm used to, but it is allowing the authors to slowly build this world and the characters which is good, especially as there are another 5 books in the series.

After the cliffhanger in this one, I have already downloaded book 2 Wild Heart.

I thoroughly enjoyed this first installment! Rune is on the run from her abusive ex and believes that she’s found somewhere she can lay low for awhile, but she has no idea that this town has its own secrets. I read a chapter or two but mostly listened to the audible narration for the entirety of this story. The narration needs some work, but it has promise. I highly recommend reading over narration for this particular book. As always: CHECK TRIGGER WARNINGS!!
