Personally, I found some of the characters to be written in a two dimensional manner - the easy tropes of a pre stamped character - and I found the ending unsatisfying. Overall, an easy read but not a repeat.

Preston books are always a fun (kinda creepy) read and it’s been a while since I indulged in one!
Fairly predictable (but not enough to take the fun out), and a good listen during lazy days!

Wow, what an exhilarating thriller! Monied couples/honeymooners resort in a luxury Colorado prehistoric wonderland. What could go wrong? Love the social commentary sprinkled in the thoughtful interactions and gore. *Audiobook narrator / production made this a 100% better.

It has been quite a while since I read Preston, or Preston & Child, and I think I am going to get back into it. While this isn't a GREAT book, and it is very self-aware of its immediate comparisons to Jurassic Park, it was incredibly easy to read and I breezed through it in about 6 hours. It is a great introduction to Cash and Colcord, and I will be there for the sequel next year. Extinction is a fun thriller, with some gruesome visuals and decent action. You can do a lot worse for your Summer reading.
