4 estrelas!

While I did figure out some of the twists some were just too good! Such a quick, dark, twisty read. I can’t wait to read more!

I’m very new to reading fiction - I’m autistic and I’m trying to improve my imagination so this is how I’m doing that.
This is a really fast paced but easily imaginable story. The way he writes, even when going back in time, is really easy to follow, which is great for a reader like me. Although, a seasoned fiction reader might say it uses common tropes but for me I really found it enjoyable.
That’s not to say that I didn’t guess a couple of the twists, but I did not get the end few, and it leaves on a cliffhanger, maybe there’s a sequel, I would need to check that.
I found this in a local charity/thrift shop for £3, so I didn’t look to see if there was a sequel. It was originally £10 new, so I wonder if I would have paid that price for it? Hmm.. maybe £7-8 but that’s just why it’s 4.5 and not 5 overall.
If there is a sequel I will definitely read it as I’m interested to know what’s going to happen to the main character and … well I won’t do a spoiler actually.

Just like other similar books. The plot was predictable from the beginning. The story felt superficial and I didn't get attached to the characters, they weren't likable.
1st book of 2025! This was a fun and twisty popcorn thriller. It's book one in a series, and I will continue reading the rest of the books.
The husband, the doctor, has a secret[or two or three or more]. The doctor believes his wife does not know the biggest secret he's keeping. The doctor's wife, in fact, knows everything, and she plans to use all of his secrets against him.
The book opens with a dead body on a beach. Next, we're taken back to before the death and all the events leading up to it.
This book is giving Frieda McFadden- not very plausible but a hell of a good time. I've also read "The Couple In The Cabin," "The New Years Party," and "The Secret Gift" from this author, and they were all really good. I'm excited to read more from him.
