Audio books version need to be rerecorded. Slight echo of the authors narration.  Slightly distracting.

Interesting material but between the poor audio quality (I could hear the author smacking her lips and noise that sounded like a conversation in the background) and constant swearing, I had to knock it down a few stars.

3.5 stars- I enjoyed the beginning chapters about what happens in the brain and got a lot of helpful information about how I could begin to interrupt those patterns. Maybe because it was an audiobook, but I didn’t feel like the “strategies” portion of the book was in depth enough for me to apply.

This book kinda gets a lot of hate and some of the reviews are totally valid, but I liked how the author describes the brain science in practical terms and then relates the science to each mental health problem. One thing that was helpful for me is when experiencing anger, to use the HEN approach to find the root of the anger. You can ask yourself am I Hurt? Were my Expectations or Needs not met? and usually anger falls into one of those categories.

Super short but didn't teach me anything new
fast-paced

The information on this book and the science explained is 5 stars. Its extremely informative and explains anxiety and trauma in a way that a 12 year old can unserstand.

The downside of this book was the cursing, I am not offended by the cursing, I have a sailor mouth, but it felt very forced. Almost as if the cursing was supposed to be an attention getting. Its over done and honestly unnecessary in most sentences. Also, the audio in the audiobook is trash, read the physical book.

I liked this book & how she explained things in a way that was easy to understand. I know the book is supposed to be more like chill casual vibes but I feel like the cussing was a bit overdone. It would’ve been fine if she added it in places where one would naturally cuss but it seemed like it was forced into every sentence. I will also say don’t listen to the audiobook as the quality is not very good.
