This was enjoyable but ultimately a bit forgettable. I liked both Raven and Clara and their banter/interactions were very cute.

DNF 30% *yawns* this is too slow for my liking bye

This was the final book in the dressmakers series, a series I really liked. Although the dressmakers are sisters, Clara Fairfax is not one of them, but a customer who became a friend instead.

I had really high expectations for this book, and sadly it didn’t meet them as much as I wanted.

The relationship between Clara and the male lead, Raven, felt somewhat lacking. I liked their battle of wits, and how we could see the world through their different views, but it just wasn’t as good as the previous book in the series.

Raven, aka Oliver Radford, is super logical and not good with feelings. It’s fun to see him come around to what he Clara have together, and there are some very good romantic scenes in the book.

It's beautifully written, as always, but I just don’t know what else to say. It was good, but still somewhat disappointing.

I have truly enjoyed the whole serie! This story again featured headstrong characters, great relationship and dialogues and played very well on my emotions. But in addition to the enjoyable characters and storyline, I so much appreciated nod to historical accuracy that was even more present in this story than in the previous ones. Here it was not only fashion that is appropriate for the era and doesn't forget all the essential undergarments, but also how the women were treated in that time period and how it must have felt, especially for someone as intelligent as Clara.
Definitely want to read more of Loretta Chase!

0.25 for character’s wit and banter, other than that it served nothing; seems clinically written had no depth and lacked emotion. Which is a shame as it seems to have had the potential. I didn’t find hero’s frivolous misogyny funny. IDC if he’s too brainy to process that it’s simply pathetic. Didn’t like the writing style, story was boring and their romance too could have been better. Sucks, as I had high hopes

Ugh I LOVED this story of Clara, a woman who people view on a very surface level, struggling with the constraints of ladyship, and Raven (Oliver) an extremely “obnoxious” lawyer. They’re just so nerdy for each other. I do love it when an MMC falls for an FMC’s BRAIN. It’s my favorite. There’s also a great side plot involving typhus, and some very excellent caretaking.

They talked way too much and that’s coming from me, a lover of dialogue. Didn’t like that the fmc threw things at the mmc. She was annoying, in general. Not the strong female type LC was hoping she would be. They also didn’t feel very lovable. And the story was entirely too long without really doing anything.
