I usually love both Ray Bradbury and short stories but I had a hard time getting into these for some reason. Will have to revisit when I’m on a short story kick and see if my thoughts change.

Lus quelques nouvelles :) je lirais la suite l’année prochaine !

Another great collection of short stories by Bradbury.

Though in some respects I often feel that if you've read one of his stories you've read them all, I also really love the settings, towns and people he brings to life with his writing and for me that is enough to keep loving them.

There were some very lovely spooky stories in here.

I was a little disappointed in this one because the stories came off a bit bland. But I know that these are many of his early stories published in magazines and not particularly related to one another. They have a good spooky season feeling to them, but they also all basically have the same formula which gets a bit boring. Especially when there is always one character that has some weird obsession like the fact that they have a skeleton or that the wind is gonna get them. It's not that they're simple because often there is a suggestion of a more complicated story (you know, more than just and its a spooky thing!), but as far as how the story goes, the narration of that character guides your reading so the stories end up with this same rhythm to them. Anyway, I really can't fault the book for that because they are short spooky stories and I think they do that well. But as always my expectations have undone my enjoy (only a lil tho).

To compare to his other works, I looove Martian Chronicles the stories of which fashion a world, and Dandelion Wine-while not having as much sci-fi/fantasy fun has a bit more character. These stories do have their own charm to them, so don't let me dissuade you :].

Had to return to the library and couldn't get it back very quickly due to other holds, and by the time I got my copy I've moved past the desire to want to read autumnal/horror books. Will likely revisit it next year!
