This is the first book I've read from AJ and I loved it so much. I loved the suspense and it had me on the edge of my seat. The romance between Marc and Lindsey was great. I loved how Noah and Sophie acted with each other. I will be looking into more books by AJ, this one was great.

I am most likely going to contradict myself in this review.

I have to be honest here I finished the book yesterday but I don't know how to rate it. It's not bad per se. It is a sweet read with spice and suspense. There were times when I wanted to give it one star but then it would hit the four-star mark. Where I then thought, this is more like it. Then it would plunge back to two or three stars. After my review, sleeping on it for a night and ironing out everything? Still got no clue.

Characterisation is good. I liked the main characters but I didn't develop a connection with them at all to be honest they would have been better off without one another. Too much cat and dog behavior going on here.

They have had feelings for one another since Lindsey has been 15 and Marc has been 18 but you don’t hit on your best friend's kid sister. Well you just don't go there at that age. But being a grown-up ass you step up and claim your woman. Not constantly pratting around which you were doing. Yes, I’m looking at you Marc. I'm surprised Lindsey gave you the time day. On top of that nearly everyone around you knew that you had feelings for one another.

The plot is good and keeps you on the edge of your seat the excitement increases until you can't stand it much longer. But the was just one thing where I thought okay that is a bit of a cliché and then you drop a bomb on her about that. Don’t get me started on the sister implying that shite she did.

I adored book one in the series so I can't figure out what happened here.

I guessed the stalker and for at least the last 30% of the book I was internally shouting at them to who dunnit. It wasn't rocket science okay so I'm most likely being harsh here but a simple question of Lindsey who else do you know whose name starts with D would have been a good start you know but just saying.

I won’t mention everything that irritated me in the book but the most important ones that I found annoying.

Question do all of you out there remember your first crush/love? If you met years later would you remember? I find it hard to believe that they can't remember one another. They have always compared each person they have dated to the other and they have all paled in comparison. So how can you forget? Got to say left me stumped. It did add some spice so I obviously have mixed feelings on this one. I found it frustrating at times very frustrating. There were times it was smooth sailing probably to lure us into a false sense of security and then loads of shit would go down all at once. It could have been evenly spaced but this is just IMO.

Lindsey didn’t have just one nickname instead we had three Lulu, half pint and Linz. Then there are the terms of endearment from Marc every single chance he had he would call her Mi Amor and muñeca. Gah. And Lindsey well she called him honey. Double gah!

Books are beta read etc. So why didn't someone mention this to the author?

All in all, for all of the minor things that bothered me I still liked the book and well I think that you should read it and try it out for yourselves. This is just me and my personal opinion.

I have settled on 3 stars

So after reading Widower’s Aura I was excited to read about Lindsey and Marc. Lindsey and Marc grew up together as he was best friends with her older brother, Andrew. During the story we are given flashbacks of how their attraction all began which I liked. This story in addition to being a second chance romance also has some suspenseful moments as well. We have stalker who is obsessed with Lindsey. The author did a good job of giving us little hints and clues along the way and the person I suspected was the stalker. It's always the ones you least expect! So back to the romance aspect of the story. Lindsey and Marc are insanely attracted to each other but I wish they had better communication with each other. Several times I wanted to shout “JUST TALK IT OUT”!!!! But as the book progressed they were able to express themselves better and I love seeing a couple grow! We also got to catch up with Sofia and Nick who were the main couple in the first book. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series as Renee’s writing and storytelling flowed and improved in this book!

I absolutely loved the first book in this series and I couldn't wait to to read Lindsey and Marc’s story. Their attraction to each other in the first novel was so interesting. They were so stubborn and in denial that they were absolutely clueless to each others attraction.

Marc was afraid that Lindsey would come in between his friendship with Noah and Andrew. But his jealousy with Lindsey is getting out of control. He freaks out every time a guy gets near her and acts possessive of her even though they are not together. They also have a history together that both have seem to have forgotten but i don't want to give to much away in terms of their past together.

When Lindsey starts having problems with a stalker, Marc will do anything in his power to keep her safe. Will they be able to move forward from the past? With their stubbornness keep them apart, or will they finally give in to each other?

This book and this group of characters are amazingly well done. This story is a great follow up to the first in the series and I can't recommend it enough! The steam coming off the pages will leave the reader wanting more! I know I wouldn't mind a Marc in my life!

Always Mine ( St. Fleur Novel, Book 2 )
By AJ Renee
⅘ Stars

Always Mine is the second book in the St. Fleur Series by AJ Renee. It is a phenomenal modern day love story. Full of twists and turns, you gotta expect the unexpected with this book!!
I have enjoyed this series soo very much!! I can identify with each of the characters in their own way, some more than others. The friendships and close bonds they have with one another, is great! We all want those kinds of friendships as adults! It's not quantity, but quality! It's a small , close knit, group of friends, who you'll meet and grow to love!!
Lindsey is your small town girl from St. Fleur. She has two amazing best friends, Sofia and Jamie Lynn. A great job, as your local librarian. She has a small home, big enough for her and her silly dog, Deogee. She has everything a woman can want.
Lindsey is dating, Derek. An incredibly sweet history high school school teacher. Everything seems to be going great.
Marc is someone who seems familiar to Lindsey. But for some reason she can't seem to place him. Once she remembers him, all those old feelings come rushing back.
Now she is conflicted. She has two wonderful men , showing interest in her. Who will she chose? She can see a future with Derek. But she has a past with Marc. Can she find happiness once and for all??
You must read this book, to see who Lindsey choses. It's gonna take you on an emotional roller coaster!! Great job, AJ Renee!!! I'm off to read the third book now!

This is a new to me author and is book two in the St. Fleur series. I haven't read the first book but I didn't have too much trouble following along and in fact will go back and read book one. The author did a good job building up all that suspense and intrigue! I kept going back and forth between characters trying to figure out who was the creep. The chemistry between Lindsey and Marc was explosive right from the start of the book. I enjoyed reading about the "best friend's sister to lover" story because after all the emotional indecision, watching Marc finally come clean about his feelings towards Lindsey was so sweet! This book has a lot of mystery and suspense but is a sexy romance too. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Told from dual POVs with a happy ending. I received, read and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Book Review: Always Mine
Author: AJ Renee
FIVE STARS
AJ Renee is an author of funny yet mysterious romance novels that end in a happily ever after. This story "Always Mine" is a prime example. This is the second book in the St. Fleur Novel series. It could totally be a stand alone novel as I didn't read book one in this series and I was able to totally understand all that was taking place and wasn't at all lost.
Lindsey and Marc have known each other since they were children. Marc was Lindsey's brother's best friend so Marc was always around. Lindsey of course developed a major crush on him when she was a teenager but he did all he could to push her away and confuse her.
After 15 years who would have thought that she would be face to face with Marc again? Why is it Lindsey is feeling so torn and confused again? Who knew that the feelings would still be there after all of these years.
AJ Renee is a wordsmith and this book is great. The way she writes about the inner conflict of wanting someone whos mood changes at the drop of a hat. Then there is the mysterious man that just keeps popping up and being weird. The suspense in this book is tense yet worth it.
Can Marc and Lindsey figure things out?

Always Mine by AJ Renee is the second book in the St. Fleur series. This can be read as a standalone as I did, but I am going back to catch the first book now. This book is about Lindsey the librarian in the small town of St. Fleur, Louisiana and Marc, and Derek. Lindsey must decide if the sweet history teacher, Derek or the smoldering childhood friend of her brother, Marc. What does a woman do when there are more than one to pick from?
During all her man drama, there might also be a stalker watching Lindsey’s every move. Luckily, Lindsey lives in a close knit small town and has not only her big brother and his friends but also her friends to watch her back. Who will Lindsey pick in the love department? Will her stalker be caught?
I enjoyed this book and will be looking for the first book and third book in this series. The small-town atmosphere is refreshing and the characters are well developed. I enjoy the relationships between Lindsey and her brother’s friends. All of them have known each other their entire lives and have a close bond. The people who have entered their lives since are also embraced and brought into their close family relationship. I also enjoyed the love triangle Lindsey is a having. Who do you pick? The choice can lead her life in two different directions. Do you choose the sweet history teacher or the sexy, childhood friend? I know who I would pick.

4 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Always Mine is the second book in the St Fleur series by A.J. Renee. The book could be read as a standalone which is what I did. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it! The storyline was good; there were some great twists and turns as well as great characters. I will say that I kind of guessed the ending but it didn’t mean that I enjoyed the book any less. The author had a great writing style and she built a great relationship between the characters. I am definitely going to be reading book 1 in the series now and looking forward to book 3! The author did a great job of revealing the identity of the ‘creep’ until quite far on into the book.
The two main characters in this book were Lindsey and Marc. I liked Lindsey for the most part of the book, I thought that she was a genuinely nice person but her I love you/hate you moments with Marc did frustrate me at times but I can see and understand her reticence towards him. I liked her independent streak too and this certainly made her very stubborn when it came to Marc. I liked Marc as well, he was kind and genuinely wanted to protect Lindsey, especially once it emerged about her stalker.
The book overall was a really nice read, it flowed well and my interest was kept throughout. I loved the development of the two main characters and I liked the secondary characters too. They added an extra dynamic to the whole story. I would highly recommend this story if you are looking for a romantic suspense story with great characters. A solid 4 star read!

Always Mine By AJ Renee Rated 5 stars

I was super excited to read this book. In the last book it was hinted at the Lindsey and Marc have some sort of past but neither of them knew it. Noah figured it out and kept it a secret from them. When Lindsey and Marc are together it's crazy. He is usually tense and she tries to ignore him. Now that they have found out that she is "half-pint" and his best friends little Sister both are happy but sad. Happy because it's been many years since they have seen each other and their future possibilities. Sad because Marc realizes that he can never act on his feelings since she is Andrew's little sis. That is the bro code "never date a sister". Lindsey had a huge crush on Marc growing up but he started acting very stand offish so when he went off to the military with Noah she decided to move on just like he did.

Andrew, Noah and Marc were tight growing up. Marc doesn't want anyone getting between their friendship and him wanting Lindsey would do just that.
I love how Marc is so growly and jealous of anyone....literally anyone MALE near or talking to Lindsey. That was before he even knew who she was......so after they figured out they were friends as kids? Yep it was worse! So when a secret admirer enters the picture and Lindsey thinks it's Derek her former boyfriend. Let's just say Marc goes a little ballistic when ever Derek is mentioned or seen. When the activities of her secret admirer become more stalkerish Noah and Marc try to make sure Lindsey is safe. But it seems nothing can stop the stalker.
Marc is such a possessive and jealous guy and Lindsey is a stand up for yourself girl. Those are great qualities in two lead characters. They will learn to bend for each other before they break. I enjoyed the way Marc kept Lindsey from asking questions he didn't want to answer. Also his nickname for her and the reason behind it- so cute!
Such a wonderful guy! But the kisses that get planted on Lindsey from Marc? Whew! Keep a fire extinguisher handy! Because they are Hot Hot Hot.
I hope the next book is about Jamie Lynn and Jesse. They seem to have something going on...chemistry or something.
