Absolutely wonderful read! Ransom Riggs is amazing and he delivered another page-turner with Conference of the Birds. It has been wonderful watching the characters evolve from book to book.
I think this is my fav book from the series so far. It was absolutely amazing and full of action and drama. Ransom's plot twist are better and better. I guessed some of the plot twist, but it was bomb!
I don’t know what my beef was with this book when I first read it, but I really enjoyed it this time.
This was definitely better than The Map of Days, but I still have low expectations for the last book. I just feel like these books shouldn't have dragged on so long, but maybe the last one will be worth it!! I'm taking a break before I try to read any more of this series though, so we might be waiting a while to find out
I didn't feel the magic of the other books in this one. Still, it was absolutely amazing.

I really enjoy this strange series by Ransom Riggs. This is the fifth installment of his Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children series. This is definitely not the last book in the series, as the story is left open for more installments.
The Conference of the Birds picks up where the last book left off. In this story, Jacob, Emma, and the other peculiars are settled in America with an important mission on their hands at the request of Jacob's dying grandfather. The objective is to deliver the newest member of the Peculiar clan, Noor, to someone named "V." Noor has no idea who V is and is coming to terms with her own peculiar trait among well-meaning strangers. Throughout the operation, they encounter many peculiar people who help them figure out their objective and come across many who are intent on keeping them from their intended task.
This installment leaves us on another major cliffhanger. The story is far from finished. I'm hoping this series continues for a while. The author has a unique method of storytelling by using unusual, vintage photos to unfold the narrative. I love the idea of the author taking some bizarre photos he has found in places like rummage sales and antique shops and building a whole series of books around these pictures. How creative! It's a little bit of history, a lot of fantasy, and a bit of horror wrapped up into a very...peculiar...story.

This was a pretty good continuation of the Miss Peregrine's series plot; however, I'm not sure that it needed to be separated from the 4th and 6th books. The pictures, which were a huge draw for me in the first few books, are starting to be very different. Some of them are specifically created only for this book and others are mere sepia toned conventional images. I feel that they don't add quite as much as they used to. I do like Jacob and Noor, and I'm excited to see them grow. On the other hand, Emma has basically been cut out of the story, which is not consistent with the previous series - I don't love drastic changes without good reasons in the middle of a series. Overall, the pacing was really good and I'm excited to read the final book in the series.
What that hell was that ending?! I have to wait until the next book to come out to find out what happens???? Nooooo
