A re-read of my favourite novel.
A tragically beautiful account of the Biafran struggle, humanising the statistics of the war.

slow-paced
This was a difficult read; it felt important because of it's content, but I didn't find that much of the structure/writing style was my thing

Another 3.5 (3.7?) star experience - incredibly graceful writing that propels the story forward, interesting and underreported historical context (the 1967 secession of Biafra from Nigeria), compelling blend of scenes from domestic lives (the fidelity! the infidelity!) and graphic moments of war. Characters perhaps a little two-dimensional, but this didn't really take away from my enjoyment. Ms. Adichie is a lovely, lovely writer.
The only problem I had with this book was the ending. As a lover of historic war fiction I enjoyed this and was engaged from start to finish.
This book was a very difficult to read. So so much war and loss and despair that is so well depicted that I had to take some breaks
