Intelligent, moving novel set in revolutionary Nigeria/Biafra in the 1960s.

Oh wow, loved this book. Biafra was a vague memory in my mind and I'm so glad Half of a Yellow Sun was there to fill the holes. Such a brilliant, heart-wrenching, powerful rendition of what happened then. All the characters are well-written and complex and I loved their quirks, I loved that they were so different: the book felt so full.

Interesting historical fiction on the Nigerian Civil War. It definitely had a side it supported, and was interesting because when I read more about the event after, I found a lot more complexity to the story of which side was “right”.
