This one wasn’t holding my interest enough to keep going. I’ll try again another time!

I’m not a super hard to impress reader, since I like most books
But this one was really good, I loved the idea of this book since I heard about it on Instagram. Immediately got a hold of it so I could read and I’m just so ready for the next one!
It was well written (in my opinion), a great concept and a plot twist even I guessed at (I’m always SUPER bad at this) but in a way that surprised me.
I hope to follow this journey until the end!
I already want 5 different copies haha

Boy oh boy did I sign up for troubled nights waiting for the second book to come out. This was all I could have dreamed for in an ‘earned magic’ series starter. 10/10 perfectly paced, no rushed feelings or left out of the loop notions.

Lysta is the epitome of strong independent woman, and has lived a hard life. We can all relate to that though, can’t we?! The supporting characters are there for her in all the right ways and just when we think we love someone for who they are, NOPE. Plot twists always get me and when that ball dropped on Evander I was kicking my legs in the airport like a giddy little school girl.

The worst part of this book? That the second isn’t immediately ready for download

"War Hour" by Lauren Loscig is an exceptional novel that completely captured my heart. From the very first page, I was hooked, and now I find myself eagerly anticipating the release of the second book. This story has effortlessly captivated my imagination, leaving me craving for more.

As an avid reader who often prides myself on predicting plot twists and guessing endings, it is refreshing to come across a book that manages to catch me off guard. "War Hour" did just that, surprising me with unexpected twists and turns. Lauren Loscig's ability to navigate the plot in unpredictable ways is truly remarkable, keeping readers on the edge of their seats and ensuring that every moment is full of suspense and intrigue.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be an ARC (Advance Reader Copy) reader for "War Hour" and would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Lauren Loscig. Being able to dive into the story before its official release was a privilege and added an extra layer of excitement to my reading experience. It's a joy to witness the creation of such a captivating world and share the anticipation with the author.

One aspect of the novel that I found particularly compelling was the growth of the main character, Lysta, throughout the narrative. As she faces numerous struggles and obstacles, it is truly satisfying to see her evolve and learn from her experiences. This growth adds depth and authenticity to her character, making her journey relatable and inspiring.

What sets "War Hour" apart from other stories is its portrayal of earned powers or abilities. Often, in many narratives, characters suddenly gain a new power and instantly know how to use it flawlessly. However, in this novel, the struggles of learning and mastering these newfound abilities are realistically portrayed. It acknowledges the difficulties and challenges that come with acquiring and harnessing such powers, which adds a layer of realism to the story. This approach allows readers to witness the characters' growth and development as they navigate the learning process, creating a more immersive and engaging experience.

In conclusion, "War Hour" is an absolute gem that should not be missed. With its ability to surprise even the most adept readers, a heartfelt thank you to Lauren Loscig for providing such a captivating reading experience. The growth of the main character, Lysta, and the realistic portrayal of acquiring new abilities add depth and authenticity to the story. I eagerly await the release of the second book and can't wait to share the wonders of "War Hour" with everyone I know.

This was a really great start to this series, I had a lot of fun with it! A very interesting fantasy concept with a group of characters that I thoroughly enjoyed. No one is glaringly irritating yet which, frankly, is a blessing coming out of my last fantasy read with multiple obnoxious characters. I was really torn between the two boys in Lysta's life, it's a difficult choice, and the last few chapters were action-packed and sad and full of betrayal and GAH, it was so good! So glad to find a fantasy book free of swearing and sex as well. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series!

War hour was incredible! I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t expecting to love this book as much as I did!

I absolutely loved how the book jumped right into action! It gets your attention almost immediately! The author, Lauren wasted no time making you start to love the characters and analyze which could be good and bad!

I also want to shoutout that she has a pronunciation page for all the names, I love that so much.

I rated this read 5/5 stars not only because of the interesting plot and possible love triangle, but the fact that you cannot easily predict the outcomes throughout the chapters! It’s hard to find books that make me question if I know what’s going to happen next, or who the evil character truly is. So hugeeee props towards that!

You can’t overlook the cute giggly kicking feet moments the main character has with not only one, but two other characters and the entire book I was questioning who was the one with good intentions. It was truly so good! I couldn’t put it down!

I honestly cannot wait for the second in this series to come out already, that’s how much I’ve truly enjoyed this read! And I highly highly recommend reading it for yourself!

Also, I want to give a huge thank you to the author Lauren Loscig for not only being super kind, but also for sending me a copy of this book to read

Brilliant. Simply down-right brilliant.

I devoured War Hour in no time. The length is just right, and the characters are incredibly unique. I’m completely obsessed with Lysta, despite her questionable taste in men.
