This is hilarious and also waaaay too accurate a depiction of schools today. The Office meets education was definitely an accurate description! I enjoyed reading this, but it mirrored my experience a bit too much to be considered light reading. :)

I picked this one up because I saw a review of it claiming that it was funny and comparing it to 'The Office.' Maybe the reviewer meant a different Office, not the tv show? A very boring one? Maybe a real office only set in a school. Anyway, not funny, though teachers reviewing it say that it is so maybe it is 'you had to be there' type humor and non-teachers don't get it.
Also, most of the characters weren't very likable. I finished reading this book and wondered why I bothered sticking with it.

I really wanted to love this book. It wasn’t great, and its treatment of the subject was uninspiring and uninspiring.

3.5 stars. Didn’t live up to its billing of “The Office but with teachers” but it wasn’t terrible. Worth the $3 I paid for it.

Pros: Lots of authenticity in terms of teaching. The various nuances of different subjects and how administrators and other teachers respond to it.

Cons: So much negativity, it was like being back at work. I get it, I do. It just was so distracting at times.

I still love my job. Teacher for life.
