This book was really cute. I've never seen a K drama in my life, but the premise is understandable enough. The main character, Desi, isn't always terribly likable though. Some of the things she does to execute her plan are manipulative, mean, and thoughtless, and a lot of the steps are downright bonkers. I spent a lot of time thinking, "Oh Desi, no, honey, no, how do you not see how crazy this is?" But overall I did enjoy it. It was a nice, fluffy summer read.

I'm not going to lie, a lot of this book is totally unique and so so cute. What I didn't find that special was the love interest who i just found to be so boring and blah. I just couldn't get myself to feel anything about him despite how much Desi liked him. but the mc was amazing even though she kept on making really dumb decisions.

this was super cute and sappy and just slightly dramatic. there were some things that desi did that i questioned but since her friends also saw it, i pardoned it bc it was on purpose so overall really loved this book and i especially appreciate the romance k-drama recs at the end of the book :,-))

my favorite bits of this book were the character relationships. i love the cuteness and chemistry of desi and luka. i love desi’s relationship with her appa. i like that luka’s relationship with his dad changed and that we learned that he’s loyal despite someone’s personality bc, if not, he probs wouldn’t have been able to tolerate desi’s actions. i also really liked how loyal wes and fiona were and that they were helpful and tried to help desi with her goal despite how crazy it got.

some things i wish there was more of were more scenes between wes, fi, and desi; more of a reconciliation between violet and desi; luka slowly improving his relationship with his dad; and (because of the scene at the end) a bit more of luka, desi, and desi’s appa watching kdramas heh

also, thank you maurene goo! not only for writing this (i can’t wait to get a copy of the way you make me feel!) but for also giving me a book to recommend to my book reading averse, k-drama loving friend!

This was a cute, fast-paced romance featuring a wonderful father-daughter relationship and some fantastic friendships. Desi's Appa really saved the book for me, especially since I wasn't Desi's biggest fan (some of her stunts went way too far and she never seemed to face any long-term consequences). On a nit-picky note, an insanely inaccurate description of CPR almost ruined the book for me. But again, this gets a thumbs-up for all the side characters!

I thought this book was pretty cute, overall, but I did feel a bit concerned about a couple of the really wacky and dangerous things the main character did without entirely having to deal with the consequences. She did learn some important lessons and grow, but I felt a few little issues got swept tidily off to the side.
Generally fun, though, with a sweet father-daughter relationship and good friendships.

Livro super divertido e dei umas boas risadas.

Enfim, adorei 💜💜💜
