DIANNA IS MY HERO. That’s it. I want to be her.

However, I do think this book is a bit overhyped.

I enjoyed this, though I felt like the narration was slow and a bit boring. Overall, I recommend either speeding up the narrator by a lot or reading as opposed to listening. I do recommend the story more so than the narration.

Found this hard to rate as I’ve been in such a reading slump so not sure if I didn’t enjoy the book or if it was because of the slump. The plot was okay I just felt it was dragged out a lot. Like it could have been 300 pages instead of 600 :/ not sure if I’ll read the second one

FINALLY REAL ENEMIES TO LOVERS!!!

This book was so freaking good and a great debut for this series. If you are a fan of Crescent City or The Crowns of Nyaxia series, you’ll love this. It’s dark and gritty with a plethora of magical creatures living in a, somewhat, modern world.

Dianna is a fucking badass. My god. She will kill you in a second and not spare you a second thought. And she is the villain! instead of the helpless damsel. She can be stubborn and brash and impulsive but she does what she wants and I loved that. She could step on me and I would say thank you. 🥲 Liam is a beautiful, tortured god king whose problems I want to fix. 😩🫠 he is perfection. I loved the flashbacks and learning about his past and why he was the way he was. And this is a REAL enemies to lovers. Like, they legitimately try to murder each other several times in the beginning before circumstances force them to have to work together. And watching them go from viscerally hating each other, to slowly becoming friends, to maybe something more, was so beautifully done. Although it happens in the span of one book, it felt so natural given everything that happens.

The pacing of the plot was also great. They are constantly on the move and there are a lot of good action sequences. I will say, the climax with the book felt very anticlimactic to me. They were just in a similar predicament a few chapters before so I had the feeling of “really, again?” In fact, there were quite a few instances where it felt like Dianna was easily taken down and making dumb decisions which annoyed me. But overall it was still really enjoyable. And I’m lowkey in shock about the ending???? Onto the next! 🫡

In the bgeinning interesting, didn't like the ending, don't know why the main Charakters had to start acting so dumb

That ending tho…. Fuck how are we gonna bounce back from that. Dianna is my new favorite FMC ever. The banter in this book was so good alongside the beautiful character developments. I loved these characters and the storyline. It was definitely longer that it needed to be but I think the author is coming out with 7 books for this series so it makes sense. Immediately have to read the next one!! I loved this book so much.
