Just not for me.
I thought I would love a book about grief and the relationships between the sisters. But it just instantly fell flat for me. The sisters seemed too constructed to me, the conversations unreal, didn't love the style of writing. Maybe this is also in part due to the translation into German or that I listened as an audio book. But I had to force myself to continue until finally admitting that I just don't enjoy it.

Really visceral and emotional portrayal of grief and sisterhood. Definitely had me teary eyed at times.
I really appreciated the discussion around motherhood. I really resonated with Avery’s indecision regarding it, and the way it was eventually resolved. I don’t think I’ve seen it discussed in the way that this book discussed it.
I also really appreciated the discussion around god or a higher power and how all three sisters had different views about spirituality without it ever being a point of contention for them. I think it is so rare to see harmonious relationships between people with different faiths portrayed in books or media, and I really liked seeing it here.
